For most Apple fans, the iPhone, irrespective of the generation, is above reproach. And in our experience, this is justified for a very big part. But the latest iPhones, including the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, have a very specific and undeniable weakness when compared with what competitors offer, and that weakness is battery life.

Well now thats another and major reason why not to go for iphone6. Already internet is sorrowed by many such news are making rounds and making fuss of it!!
RIP apple iphone 6 even before its release.

Moto x is the only enviable high end smartphone currently. That always listening feature is the coolest thing which is not available in any other phone. The other high end phones of samsung and apple are just gimmicky

Disagree.

If you see, Nexus 5 stands way below the iPhones as well. Do you think Nexus 5 dint click?

I am a Nexus 5 user myself and I dont think the battery is so bad for a medium - highend user like me.

Not that amazing feat when the size of battery on Moto X is 2300 mah and on iphone 6 its 1810 mah. 500 mah do give it a good headstart. Plus these tests are subjective and usage varies from a user to user.

Nexus series itself is pretty good. Cant compare nexus and apple. And forget about the benchmarks here.

But given the price factor, dont you think iphones and here iphone 6 is priced extremely high?? which offers just 8mp camera and a battery capacity which comes in under 10-15k phones?? Other manufacturers are way ahead climbing 20mp+ camera mark and batteries going beyond 3000mah and not to forget this all under 40k ease.
More to add still they are stuck on dual cores. No card slot no matter they offer 8-128gb of storage but thats not the only factor customer will consider to buy an iphone6.

So whats worth about iphone then?? Nothing, but just some brand loyalty. Just like people are loyal to adidas and nike no matter what the price, people stick to it even though some of their products arent that worth the penny.

You are just comparing specs wise and not considering the OS at all. Totally wrong way to compare iPhone with anything else. If you consider 2 android devices then it is fine but not iPhone and android.
Dual core and zillion cores...really ? OS optimization is not even taken into consideration here ?
Flawed comparison IMO.

Its going to be a long and never ending conversation but Apple does not just add stuff and sell them. Plus they make a product for a year and many companies learned that from them. Do you want a beefed up gazillion pixel camera or something that produces sharp pictures at a defined mega pixel count. Lumia 1020 is a great camera and a good smartphone but that does not mean that more megapixels make it better. Sensor, image processing, aperture are the key ingredients that matter. Now the irony, 4mp camera in HTC One M8 rocks when it comes to clicking images. So its not the megapixel that matter. PS : I also have an SLR, 400D. Yes,i have posted in a thread about the Geekbench and other benchmarks and this Cyclone Dual core CPU did give a hardtime to a Snapdragon Quad Core 801 .

The OP speaks about the battery comparison and I spoke in terms of it.

Also, me and you not able to afford it doesnt mean that the sales are gonna die. All I was saying is that iPhone sale will not be effected purely based on the battery under discussion here

I have spoken in all terms esp. flexibility wise.

I admire iphones interface, gui, touch etc.. but still its way too much pricy for that price. No offense or brand loyalty here.
Agreed ios dont require quad and hexas as its os is very light compared to android and moreover bugs free.
But still somewhere I fell it lags in battery and camera. They should have incl. 12mp or so as 8mp was already in iphone5. And people have more hopes in terms of hardware specs in accordance with a new OS feeling.

Basically new customer will be always driven by the hardware specs first no matter its sufficient to run the gadget and no matter he admires the look n feel of the OS.

Sale wise as I had spoken already about brand loyalty, so sales arent gonna fall or go here-there.

And for the rest nokias, samsungs etc. are priced decently int heir own segments and they cannot be compared as in some the lumias take the stage and in some android wins it.

How did it sell 10 million on first week? Fanbois or not, it sold 10 million on first week. just opening week.

It has improved over its previous version, while being slimmer and having a bigger screen. I'd say that's not bad at all, especially for a 4.7-inch phone.

I don't know why Apple chose to slim it down further. They could've maintained the thickness and increased the battery capacity. 7.6mm was not a bad at all. They've made it 6.9mm now.

Funny thing is, neither are any good in terms of battery life. Anyway iphone 6 sold 10 million units already, its like diamonds, have no reason to cost so much, also not rare at all, yet people pay through their noses to get one.

Umm no, I'm fairly certain more than half of those "10 million" iphones were sold in the US and were bought along with a 2 year contract attached, in short they are subsidized, on the flip side the plans quite expensive. I guess Americans look at it differently, they are okay with paying $60 on average per month for mobile plans but not $600+ for the phone itself.

This is interesting, Anandtech's preliminary results (browsing on WiFi only) paint a totally different picture -
As one can see, it seems that Apple has managed to do something quite incredible with battery life. Normally an 1810 mAh battery with 3.82V nominal voltage would be quite a poor performer, but the iPhone 6 is a step above just about every other Android smartphone on the market.
