Specification:
Processor: The Moto Z and the Moto Z Force use
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which has the top speed of 2.2 GHz. Actually, this is a quad-core processor which has two high-performance cores running at 2.15GHz. The other two cores run at 1.6GHz.

RAM: Both phones come with 4GB low-power DDR4 RAM. The low-power bit helps save the battery.

Internal storage: The phones will be available in 32GB and 64GB variants. Both phones support microSD card of up to 2TB.

Screen: Both the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force have 5.5-inch screen. The resolution is 1440p. However, the screen is one difference between these two devices. The screen of the Moto Z Force is shatterproof.

Rear camera: This is another difference between the two phones. The Moto Z has a 13-megapixel camera with F1.8 lens. The Moto Z Force has a 21-megapixel camera. Both phones have optical image stabilisation and both support features like phase-detect auto focus.
Front camera: Both have 5-megapixel with F2.2 lens.

Weight: The Moto Z weighs 136 grams while the Moto Z Force weighs 163 grams. Also, the Moto Z has a 5.2- mm body while the Moto Z Force has a 7mm shell.

Software: Android 6 aka Marshmallow.

Battery: The Moto Z has a 2600 mAh battery with turbo charging supported. The Moto Z Force has a 3500 mAh battery with turbo charging that Motorola calls fastest yet in a Moto phone.

Availability and price

Battery life on Moto Z going to be a failure. Wonder why manufacturers dunn learn about importance of battery life. They just want to make phones thinner and thinner and thinner on cost of battery life. :shifty:

I am getting sick of my S6 Edge battery life now specially after switching onto Airtel 4g. Waiting for the Nexus devices to surface.

Battery life of Moto Z was mentioned. Sounded pretty decent. Also charging time.

Motorola says that Moto Z battery life is rated for 30 hours of mixed use, with the ability to TurboPower with a USB C cable and last 8 hours after just 15 minutes of charging.

I don't hate the design. In fact I would say that I love... the back! :D
But I have some issues with the front. The home screen button is way too big and ugly. And the dots...Ugh!
Also the phone is too slim for my taste. The design could've been a lot better I agree. Lenovo screwed up. Waste of a flagship phone.
But the worst is yet to come, brace yourself for the pricing. Initial pricing of 50000rs+ for the Moto Z. I'm calling it now. :P

It is bad or just doesn't last long enough?

Interestingly, reading the fine print regarding the battery life of Moto Z, we discovered something a bit unusual: the handset's battery is supposed to last up to 30 hours "in U.S., Canada and Europe", and only up to 24 hours in the rest of the world. There's also a difference when it comes to the phone's TurboPower charger, which, in 15 minutes, can provide 8 hours of power in the US, Canada, and Europe, but only 7 hours of power in the rest of the world.

Same ugly fingerprint scanner and the two dots flanking makes it pretty cringeworthy.
Yeah. The front looks horrible.

The company has not detailed prices of either smartphone, both of which run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, feature a fingerprint scanner on the home button, sport a USB Type-C port, and omit the 3.5mm headphone jack. However, both smartphones ship with a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter.
Damn. That is another downer.

so I reached out to Motorola via email last night to ask them to comment on the whole X to Z transition. It turns out that there isn't a transition, so much as just a new member of the family: Moto Z is not replacing Moto X, at least not at this time. Motorola's statement follows.

Moto X is alive and well. In fact, Moto X Force recently launched in multiple new markets around the world. Moto X and Moto Z do share some great qualities, but they ultimately provide different experiences and make our portfolio more robust for consumers looking for the perfect smartphone to fit their needs. Tech-hungry consumers who are looking to get a brand new set of experiences from their smartphone will turn to Moto Z and Moto Mods.

While many expected to see the Moto Z Play, that never happened, which doesn't mean it won't.
Reportedly, the company plans to release it as the phone is still in the development. The only question is when, on which we have no details at the moment. Codenamed Vertex, the smartphone is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 625, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a 16 MP rear camera, a 5 MP selfie shooter, a 3,600 mAh battery and will measure only 5.9 mm.
Lenovo also plans to release two additional Moto Mods - the Pro Camera Mod with 10x optical zoom, f/3.4-5.6 aperture, and a proper Xenon flash, and the Adventure AMP, which will "guarantee" waterproofing for the Moto Z.

Moto Z Play edition? Wow it even got more cluttered.
Lenovo going two ways with both the X and Z doesn't sound good. Heck there isn't any need of the Z. Just put improved Z components into the X which already has a good branding and you have a proper flagship.

The finger print sensor not working as a menu button in moto g and z series is something I don't like . They could have implemented the finger print scanner in the moto logo at the back of the phone thereby not cluttering the front .
