Hi

It might be moved the correct thread (if the posting is wrong). I am using Motorola Defy+ model since April 2012. I bought it thru flipkart.
I am facing the following issues.

1. Whenever I made call, first it got disconnected immediately. After 3 or 4 attempts only I could make any call.
2. Frequently the 3G connectivity lost. Then I had to tap Data enable (thru settings menu) to enable it.
3. I need to charge the handset too often (the battery not last for 3 hrs).

I gave it to Fine Fone Solutions (authorized service centre) two times. First time they said they have re-installed Software and assured the problem would not occur. Within a week, I faced the same issues, hence gave it to them. They said, it will be sent to Chennai for some hardware fix but immediately next day (Because of Technician's negligence) software again re-installed. I got back the phone from them.

Now I am in dilemma to give it to the service centre in Chennai or change the phone.

Please if anyone had fixed these issues, kindly let me know.

drag them to consumer court. However, first you should trouble shoot what is causing the issue and be sure that its the phone. The first two problems can be caused by poor network also. Post a screen shot of battery stats for your third problem.

Hi,

Some facts shared by a Authorized Server Center Person in Mangalore. (I was in Mangalore yesterday for short trip to temples, in return I reached the KSRTC bus stand much earlier and I have just walking around the places I saw this service centre)

1. When ever the service centre told the customer that the OS is re-installed this is not happened - Mos of the time the OS installation failed especially in Android so the service centre did not wanted to take risk so they will reset the settings to Factory Settings.

2. Even if the some IC issue in motherboard the handset company insisting the service centre to replace the mother board not the particular IC - The IC must cost only in hundreads, but replacement of Motherboard will give half of the handset cost. And to remember warranty do not include Motherboard.

3. Whenever the handset is sent to main service centre for replacement of motherboard or hardware issue, most of the time the new motherboard will be replaced by some old boards (the customer do not know). Even the service centre knows this they wont reveal it to the customer.

4. Most of new smartphone spare parts will not be available for more than 2 years (even if the customer wants to retain the model after service he can't. customer has been forced to buy a new handset)

5. All the service centre has only a few qualified technicians and rest of the people are working as per that guidance. He cant do the service properly.

6. When you are applying for a franchise the handset company insisting to sell the spare parts for at least 1,00,000.

In last one person checked my phone and confirmed that the settings only reset and OS was not reinstalled. I do not have time otherwise I surely wanted to reinstall the OS there itself.

Regards
Srinivasa

Yes this more or less expected.. Traditionally the Indian market has always been about low priced handsets so the level of service is according.

Now with 30k+ phones selling we should see some improvement in service.
