Are you sure that you wont be overclocking the rig that you are building? Going with a P67 chipset motherboard only makes sense if you are gonna add another GPU... Plus why not buy a k series proccy by just spending 600 bucks more? if in future you would like to overclock then you would atleast have an option... Plus if in future you would add another HD6950 then you would have to overclock the CPU to unleash the second GPU performance otherwise you wont see much of a difference in framerate after adding another GPU...

Firstly, I would ask you to wait for AMD Bulldozer if you can. It's scheduled for launch in 3 weeks, but availability here in India might take another couple of weeks. If you can't wait that long, go for the config you have chosen. It's a pretty solid config. Here are a couple of suggestions from my side:

Since you are getting a P67 motherboard, go for the 2500K with unlocked multiplier. Even though you won't be overclocking, it is just a few hundred bucks more and if you do plan to later on, you can overclock later.

Get the newer 6950 TwinFrozr III PE/OC edition.

I hope you were referring to the 690 II and not the old 690. Also the Corsair Carbide 400r has recently been launched and should be available here any time soon. It's an awesome cabinet and better than the 690 II.

@Hades.

Never done overclocking, so i mentioned no. Maybe i can go for the i5 2500k

@viralbug

I will try for the 6950 TwinFrozr III PE/OC edition.

I am gonna get it soon as a land in india (this weekend). So bulldozer i cant wait for (might be months to get in india).

cabinet and other info are just copy paste from other thread. a noob in this regard.

overclocking i5 2500k is as easy as snatching a candy from a kid's hand :P... Just up the multiplier and watch your proccy go zrrooommmmmm... :)

Rather than buying an aftermarket cooler buy an unlocked processor & run it on stock cooler on stock settings , later buy an aftermarket cooler when overclocking will be needed in the future to squeeze out more power from the proccy.
:-) .

Thanks for the inputs guys ... i have updated the config accordingly. Any more inputs are welcome esp. a gud ups / shops.

stick with Twin Frozr II.

read some bad reviews of Twin Frozr III about the fan blades being broken.

about ups get a continuous sine wave ups prefer apc or sukam.

^^Source would help...

@OP

If you can find Sapphire HD6950 Toxic edition in your city then go with it coz it outperforms HD6970...

Get Sapphire HD6950 Toxic edition,if you don't find it then go for msi twin frozr iii version it beats sapphire one and gives nice overclocking results.
