I have been using iPhone 3Gs for almost 5 months and gets bored with iOS4 with so many issues and less customize other than Wallpaper and background. After using iPhone used with best apps and decided to moving to android which has best customize of Android 2.2 and HTC sense UI .Few weeks back i got the information about HTC desire HD and Z is lanuching to India by November. Its time for sell my iPhone 3GS and falling love with Android 2.2 +Sense UI.

Iam deeply concered about whether i can go for HTC Desire HD or Z with below factors.

1) RAM comparison
2) Camera and HD video
3) Perfomance
4) Battery Life
5) Future upgrade compablity for android 3.x,4.x....etc

Hope u guys help me on this.Please advice me which one i can go for it , Apple's iOS4 make me to Move over to Android Lover.

It is better to wait a bit more to know ho good these two phones are . Do remember the EVO's battery issues. Desire HD is very very similar to Evo in h/w.

I switched to HTC Desire from iPhone 3G about 6 months ago. Here are my observations that might be helpful to you.

Pros of iPhone compared to Desire:

* Hardware ringer/vibrate switch

* Better keyboard

* Better battery life (3 days over 1.5 days for Desire)

Pros of Android compared to iPhone:

* Widgets save a lot of time

* More friendly multi-tasking (IMHO)

* No fuss of Jailbreaking/Unlocking. Instant access to the latest software.

* Great Google product integration. No offline contact/calendar sync needed. Full gmail support.

There is a little bit of learning curve switching to Android from iOS. Once you are familiar, you probably won't think about going back to iPhone (at least, I don't).

Depends on what you prefer.. a bigger screen or a hardware Qwerty...

1. Ram comparison - You need not worry about ram on android. It manages it very well, and it's not an issue with the high end devices
2.Camera and HDrecording - I dont have a first hand experience with HD or Z but in general htc's is ok... it'll not blow you away.
3. Performance - Sense UI is great on Android and there are no lags on normal browsing even in the desire. Z and HD have better cpu/gpu spec so it must only get better.
4.Battery life - it's not something to really boast about... but it should get you through a day with heavy usage
5.Future upgrades - these devices will most possibly get the android 3.x but 4.x support is less probable. But if you are going to root, then that is not much of a problem. There are developers who will port it to these devices.
And if you like to customize your phone, then you'll love android.

You can install the sdk and get a feel of vannila android ui with the emulator..

Desire Z should have great battery life thanks to its 45nm SoC. My G2 gets me around 14-24 hours depending on usage, which is almost double of my Vibrant(Galaxy S). I'm very impressed with the G2's battery life. I don't see why Desire Z should be any different.

Well checked out the Android phones, the feel is nowhere near iphone. Yes the iphone is costly, but since you already have one hold on to it some more time.

Wait for Windows phone 7 its going to rock! The Metro UI and animations are right out of those fancy tech films :P

Looks and feels very sexy.

yes. I do suggest winpho 7 but only the second gen. The current gen have good UI but there are many silly mistakes in the UI that may/can make it a bit frustrating.

Yes, But it will come along, Since there is a minimum hardware spec, the updates are going to keep flowing in for a long time..

Also, these niggles will probably be ironed out by the time actual phones launch..

Microsoft has pulled out a real number with this one..Didnt think anyone would be able to compete with apple in the UI department.
