I have tried many mp3 players includingmobile intrigated players to el cheapo chinese. soIMHO as far as the sound quality, battery back-up and the ease of transfering files are concerned sony walkmanphones are best.but again to get an mp3plaer within 3-4K we can opt for
NWZ-B172 NWZ-B172F

. I have tried & tested and trusted the little giny. specs worth to mention are-3second quick charge, fm recording, long batterybakup, voice recorder,Bass booster,View attachment 19964 mass storage, and many.available in many(pleaserefere sony for full specs) attractive colours also.price is 2k6-3k5.
i have tried these players but the SQ is same as the ipod.thanks for the reply though

how much are you expecting for your ipod touch...?

and regarding the player c2 is an upgrade from d2+ and to point out, d2+ has an sd slot and not a micro sd expansion slot....http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/08/cowons-minuscule-c2-pmp-picks-up-where-the-d2-left-off/

i personally own a c2 and UI is the one which needs a little time to get used to, other than that c2 is good for bass and SQ.....
i am expecting around 8k.and which iem should i pair with the c2?when i listen to my samsung note 2 with my samsung earphones with eq set to bass booster...so the song where there is a little bass in the background..i can even listen to it...its so deep...i just love it...is this same with the cowon c2?thanks

I can't compare with the Note 2 but i use a samsung GS3, and i can say you that c2 have many jeteffect setting and BBE+ which boosts the bass as per your requirement. Coming to the IEM, i can't really help you coz, even i searched for a Bass IEM and bought a M2 and later got a Meelec M31....
whcih was a bass heavy IEM. After hearing to both for some time, came to a conclusion that M2 fall short of bass and M31 is too bassy(IMHO), and i need something in between, as i couldn't invest any more on pricey IEMs. Got a ES18 and am happy with it, and find everthing up to my requirement. May be someone else here can help you with the IEM selection.

Coming to the player the clip+ or the sony players give you a max of 10-15 hours and may not drive some (high impedence) IEMs, and c2 has a battery backup of 50+ hours and can drive most of the IEMs without any use of DAC. The UI and the connector(not Mini/Micro usb) that comes with the Cowon C2 are its negative points.
