Iam looking for an Mp3 player that can be recharged by connecting it to an external charger other than through the regular USB port as i will not have access to the computer.

Other Requirements:

512MB is also sufficient

Should have decent Audio clarity

FM radio

As i mentioned above i should be able to recharge without connecting to PC

Budget:Rs.2500MAX

Any good brand will do.

And please dont suggest me the cheap chinese mp4 players:no:

And it should look a bit flashy because iam going to gift it to my Sister:P

Transcend T.Sonic 630 1 GB should be available in the range u have (arnd 2500)

it uses a single AAA battery which can be charged by an external charger

u'll have to purchase the battery and charger seperately (Should come around 350 bux for a pair of 2 piece 800mAh batt and charger)

also there are USB chargers available in the market to charge USB mp3 players form mains. It plugs into regular wall socket. SO u can basically use any MP3 player that charges through the USB and charge it using that.

Tsonic is not coming with a AAA battery.
Tsonic is a good option. You can also look for Creative Zen Stone, you may find it in gray market for around 2k. All these players can be charged using an external charger with USB, you can get one for as low as 100 rs.

Ya i know about the external AC-USB adaptor but i heard that it causes severe damage to the player. Is it true?

And i guess the Motorola charger has Mini USB with 6V output(i may be completely wrong......)are you sure that i can use it safely for charging Tsonic610?

Thats an interesting option, i've always preferrred players that allow you to use standard batteries so you can get more time.

800mAH for a AAA is tiny, you can get 3 times the capacity with a rechargeable AA. But then there is slight increase in size.

I have been using that USB charger for good year now. Nothing is wrong with my 2 players.

Btw even iAudio players have mini USB, they are much better than tsonic in terms of audio quality but also costs more.

Dont go for Local charger,
frin of mine had a bad experience, like it corrupted the mp3 firmware.
good dat we cld able to repair it by upgrading the same..

one question guys, is it possible to get a second battery for the T.Sonic 610?

like if i m out somewhere, i just pop up the new battery?

how much does that cost

can a normal AAA batt be used instead of the LiOn battery?

The battery is changeable by the dealers.

also no issues on charging via moto charger. only bummer is that Transcend specifies a 1A charger while the moto's are 550ma IIRC

Slower charging, and the 3rd block doesnt last as much as it does when its charged by USB

but hey, somethings better than nothing :hap2:

^^ so the battery is replacable, can it be replaced by me without voiding the warranty? and how do i source the battery?

I was quoted Rs.3300 for an iAudio G3 512MB.Is that a good price? Will i get it for lower price in the Grey market?

Please reply fast...i need to buy it tommorrow.

Yeah space doesnt matter much.Even 512 MB is sufficient.

Iam more towards the iAudio G3 because of its excellent audio clarity and it uses an external AA battery.

I just wanna know the price of it in grey market(B'lore),as i got a quote of Rs.3300 for 512Mb and Rs.4500 for a 1Gb player along with bill and warranty.

And are grey mkt stuff reliable?
