I observed this issue just 2 days ago.
For office usage, I have to connect to a clients vm (rdp) hosted on AWS via Amazon WorkSpaces. Each of us have our own client login (naturally) hence outlook/teams etc. are separate from my parent co. outlook/teams.
Never felt the need but that day I had to call to one of the client employees on Teams from that aws vm. I was able to hear him but he wasn't able to hear me at all.
I was hooked to a BT earphones on my desktop (parent host). I switched to wired 3.5mm headphones using a "Y" splitter then too same issue, he wasn't able to hear me.
But this isn't the issue when I join calls from my desktops Teams app. (no matter which earphones I try) all is smooth sailing.
It was kind of naturally embarrassing for me as I called 5 times and it was the same issue.
I gave a try from my laptop and was amazed that same wired earphones worked just perfect right on the first call via same aws vm-rdp. (both the parties are able to communicate with each other) just like it happening the usual way.
For laptop no need to used the splitter as there's some TXRX thing on the laptops jack but not on desktop.
So dont know what exactly is wrong from pc. As, using the same splitter or even any BT earphones, calls directly from my pc are working fine.
I'm connecting through my cabinets front audio jack via this Y splitter (mic/ear). Back panel cannot be sued here as cable length is limited.
Apart from this there's no other audio issue at all.
I tried to temporarily login my clients a/c from my desktop but the account is binded by some policies so it can only work through authorized systems. (my earlier project client didnt had such restrictions)
Need resolution so that I dont have to depend on laptop for such scenarios.
