Hi friends,
I purchased a MSI 690V chipset mobo (K9AGM4) as a replacement for my Jetway 690G mobo.
The board is working O.K but I can't see a POST screen and also don't hear any single beep that we hear when the PC is booting. When I switch on my system the PC directly shows the Win XP loading screen. I'm shutting down the system using start>turn off computer>shut down.
Although its not a problem - but I'm curious why this is happening?:S

Maybe the mobo speaker is connected and also try disabling the quick boot/ boot to OS option :)

The speaker is connected. Quick boot is enabled as with all the boards. Disabling quick boot generally subjects the RAM to more thorough testing and thus takes more time.

enjoy ,

you Have a Fast system ,If You Wanna See The Post disable quick post ,and you could pres the esc key if you want post to complete fast

is the display via a dvi cable by any chance ? the board doesnt have a dvi slot so im assuming , a no to that , unless u have a gfx running on the board..........

secondly as soon as u power up the system , keep hitting del and see if u can get into the bios.....

if del doesnt help / use F2 and check........

May be a Buggy Bios ! Try updating to the latest version ...make sure the pc speaker u connected is working

The speaker is connected and working.

I can go to BIOS by hitting Del.

The input to the monitor is through the DVI cable from my GFX card.

Dude...

Just enjoy using the PC and stop worrying about such small curiosities...

With the QuickBoot enabled, you'll primarily see the "MSI" logo, then the progress bar and finally the loading screen,After which you arrive at your desktop...

And as suggested earlier, your PC must be quite fast ;)

Ppl usually want to arrive at their desktop faster and skip unnecessary screens ;)
