0-20k MSI Claw as Mini PC

I've been trying to fit a mini pc under 20k budget. Most of the high end ones cost north of 30k. Even on used marketplace, 20k gives you no more than 10th gen intel processors. Now someone posted this deal on Flipkart thread where MSI Claw Gaming Handheld is available for 25k. I was able to push it down further to 21k using supercoins and some discount vouchers.

It comes with Intel Core Ultra 5 - 135H, 16GB 6400MT/s RAM (non upgradable), 512GB storage (upgradable but costly). I don't intend to upgrade the RAM and/or SSD.

I plan to hook it up to a thunderbolt dock with a 3 monitor setup and a DAS for home lab.

So I impulse bought it. How bad of a decision was that? I have 4 days till delivery, should I cancel it?

Keep in mind that the claw has a battery limitation while using it as a Mini PC, so you would have to charge it occasionally, people do use it as Mini PCs as it is the best bang for the buck system you can get, but using the thunderbolt and without battery in tandem has been known to throw weird issues, good luck

I shifted my entire PC universe from desktop rigs to MiniPCs and couldn't be happier. Very recently, I sold off my last PC. I currently have four MiniPCs (Including a Mac M4 mini).

Using an MSI claw wouldn't be a bad idea at all. I would suggest you to not cancel it, since the itch will remain. If you don't like it, someone in TE will buy it off you.

Maybe I would think of buying it. The unit, at that price is definitely a good buy.

You can always set up a charger with a smart plug to trigger at a certain charge level if you are worried about battery deterioration.
