PC Peripherals Msi rs 480 not available

Want to buy a new pc for my friend, went to lamington road last week, all the dealers told me that amd 3000+, msi rs480 are not available bcoz of the floods. My friend called most of the dealers yesterday still the same reply.

Is there any alternative for the processor n the mobo.

(dont want a gaming rig)

Btw which mobo's support the sempron 64 bit processsors.

For Semprons 64 bit, you need a Socket 754 board.... like the MSI K8N NEO PLATINUM(this is the best).

And if the RS 480 is not available, buy an Asus A8N-E and buy a cheap graphics card like the 6200TC. Darklord has one on sale for 2.5K.

Or if you want, you can go for AGP A8V Deluxe and a cheap graphics card like a 5200 or something. There are 2 5200 on sale here at Te. One on sale by SuperCzar is a 128 bit card.... Asking price is something like 1.6K.

but I would suggest a PCIe setup....

only PCIE boards or AGP is also ok? think msi neo2 platinum is 6k in mumbai which is very good.
