CPU/Mobo MSI Warranty Sucks

So I had MSI P45 Neo motherboard. Recently it stopped working, still in warranty and I gave it to their service center for repair. They say it is beyond repair and I won't be getting a new one. When I asked the reason, they said it is a rare case and "they don't replace the motherboards" if it is beyond repair:@. Their website clearly says if motherboard is not physically damaged or damaged due to excess power, I am entitled to repair, if not, a replacement. All this happened at their bangalore service center. Is there anything that can be done? Should I try to mail it to their Mumbai/Delhi centers for repair?

If there is warranty remaining & the product is not physically damaged then they have to repair/ replace it...

Ask them the reason in writing & threaten them with a legal case..

^^

This is baseless I got a brand new HD 5770 HAWK edition when they could not replace it with a standard HD 5770 which got fried :(, but their service front was polite and to the point so much so that they contacted me after the time-frame ( for replacement ) expired and assured me that I would get a replacement for the card in a week, you just need to pressure them a bit like call them every 2 days speak to a higher level executive and all, it'll pan out fine Digilink has a good reputation for handling RMA's better than Rashi :) Cheerio

What a load of crap--I can vouch for MSI's service. Its definitely one of the better experiences you can have when it comes to RMA'ing stuff in India amongst all hardware makers.

[1]Do you have proper bill/documents? Don't photoshop some random bill when you provide them the defective product--they will verify with the seller/distributor--they usually have details of every product sold individually through the proper distributors.

[2]Has your product died after careless handling/overclocking?

[3]Was there a voltage fluctuation which fried your board?

[4]Did you break something in the motherboard?

If you are at fault here there's nothing that can be done - if not - PM me your product S/N, part number and a scan of the bill. I know a lot of people in MSI and can help you out.

MSI server is awesome .. only a bit slow :P ... the one in mumbai is awesome .. infact the lady on the phone who was in the town side office fully guided me to the suburb centre and the people there were fine too ... i had my 8800GTS 320mb replaced with a 9800GT 1GB green 256bit :D :D :D

It should take 48-72 hours for the MSI service center to provide you with a new board if its downright defective--if there are certain things that can be repaired--it takes less than 48 hours. Replacements for graphics cards usually take 5 days minimum and upto 10 days maximum.

Sunny is right. I made a big scene about my board not being returned in 3 working days and on the 5th day I got a new board.

also if your current motherboard/gpu is out of stock and is not in their inventory - you get a direct step up to a better model/newer model than you previously had.

I think gigabyte and msi have the same same center for warranty,i seen many people with msi mobos, they seem satisfied.even gigabyte has good service.

I will try again by calling them at their Mumbai center tomorrow, if still it doesn't work out, I will pm you SN and scanned coppy of the bill Sunny27

I went for RMA of my graphic card today which was provided as replacement by the MSI dealer last year as it was beyond repair. When i went there they refused to take it as the serial no sticker was missing. This despite the fact that my card is still under warranty(as per bill) and is signed by the MSI Dealer and Date of purchase mentioned(which matches with my bill. Can anybody help

you cant blame anyone for refusing to rma your product without serial number sticker. take it back to the dealer or look in your cabinet, the sticker does fall off due to the card heating up as the glue dries up with prolonged use.

MSI guys told me my motherboard is beyond repair and they would have repaired it if it was possible

Now, I sent it to their Mumbai center and didn't tell them it's still under warranty, I just told them I want it to be repaired....guess what, they have repaired it and charged me(I am okay with it since my board is getting repaired), inspite of being told it's beyond repair at their Bangalore center
