MSN MESSENGER not responding

hi guyzz.
whenever in try to login to msn messenger .it shows the warninig that" signing .net messenger service failed bcz service not responding.the service not available or u may not connected to internet."
plz help me out wht really prob with my comp?
 
it can happens when the .net server where our ID is stored is down.

does this always happen? are you using msn 8 final?
 
try reinstalling the appliction.... i too used to get same probs... but i reinstalled n now it works fine 4 me
 
Are you behind a firewall?
Do go to Tools -->Options-->Connection and in the Troubleshoot Connection tab, click start and see if a connection is established or not.

Otherwise if you have certain settings for internet like a Proxy or a Server which you have to connect to, enter those settings under the advanced tab of the connection settings.
