just put the following url in your browser and login with "admin" as password & login.

http://192.168.1.1/

in status tab check ADSL on the left.

All the above settings are for the modem supplied by MTNL.

BTW my connection is 2mbps.

You are one lucky customer. Oh man! I am jealous

One complain with MTNL is that its connections have erratic speeds and often go down in the heat of things. But with your connection, I think it would be a news to you. All of your parameters are really good. BTW, can you please tell how far you stay from telephone exchange?

Enjoy the MTNL largese

This is one thing I myself am not sure about; may be =< 1KM. These days they also take the complaints seriously. But you have to be persistent with MTNL.
Tushar check your line connection, some bad figures.

Line Attenuation 38 25 dB

less than 1 km. This is the most important aspect. The closer you are to the exchange better will be your speed. If you stay a little too far, however hard you or MTNL chaps try, relatively there will be slowdowns.

how do i solve this problem dude..????
for getting a lower line attenuation you'll need to shift to a house closer to the exchange...:p
on a serious note...you dont need to do anything...its fine for most of the people who live bit faraway from the exchange...besides it wont have considerable effect on your sync rates and speed...
