MTNL Increases Price of 2MPBS Unlimited Plan

Hi,

MTNL has increased the price of 2MBPS Unlimited Plan from 3999/- p.m to 4999 p.m.

Reason? They added new plan called DSL_3995_Freedom which is 2MBPS 50GB Limit @ 3395/- p.m.

Now those who are on 2MBPS Unlimited Plan (Like Me) @ 3999/- will stay on that plan but with the 50GB Limit or have to inform MTNL to increase to unlimited, they had been calling all people who have that plan if they want to increase to that plan or stick with the 50GB Limit.
 
Yeh... I received the call from MTNL since I was on 2MBPS unlimited, I was furious as hell. But thankfully, I found out that my local cablewallah had started giving 2MBPS unlimited plan, so I upgraded my local cable connection to 2MBPS and downgraded MTNL to 1.34MBPS plan. The best thing about my local cable connection is 2MBPS upload and download (MTNL gives only 256kbps upload / 768-1024kbps on 2mbps plan).

Now I've kept MTNL as my backup connection. :P
 
Thank god I didn't get MTNL in new home ,was about to apply for it but DC network on 5net was irresistable .Cable guy /5net has no FUP policies :P . Paying 400 Rs/month for 3840 kbps unlimited plan but getting minimum 1mbps most of the time and 2-3 mbps at night abd there's also the 60-80 TB of share of latest stuff on DC++ which gives 2-4 mbps download speed :D !
 
Ohh thats why

Recently after 2 years i was downgraded to 1 mbps .I was receiving 2mbps speed from start.
 
Is there no end to this FUP imbroglio?

the only consolation for me is im on tata photon plus with UL 3.1.mbps connection without any FUP, and this plan doesnt exist now.
 
and we have 4Mbps unlimited in delhi for rs 3499 :p

BTW unlike other companies, there is no FUP on unlimited plans.

the 50GB plan is a volume based plan.
 
What i don't get is WHY? FUP was first applied in US & other countries to reduce maximum number of downloads when they increased their speeds to above 5mbps & people started downloading like hell, but at 2MBPS How much one will download the max download count that i've noticed is only about 160GB in a month.... I work for a Canadian company & my boss; when he saw the 50GB limit the 7GB 10GB, the airtel's 256kpbs speed after FUP etc, he laughed...

I was thinking that MTNL will reduce its 2MBPS Unlimited price in a few months but those SOB's have increased it. I am seriously thinking of changing my ISP but i don't have any other option, I've applied for Tata Indicom Infinity 2.5MBPS Plus plan @ 5000 + S.T. cause i think if i have to pay 1000 bucks more i rather have 500kbps more download speed & 1mpbs upload speed , I've also applied for Reliance's Zoom 2 (2MBPS Unlimited @ 2599), waiting to hear back from them if they are available in my area.

I don't want to go for local Cable walla's because they are unreliable... I have Nivayah Broadband available in my area through local cablewallah that may be one of the options but i'll have to use them for a couple of months & check how their service are, as i don't want any downtime.
