Since one year I am a satisfied customer of Mtnl Broadband services. However
since the past one month I have been having many problem's with this connection.Many a times I can't access differnet sites properly which I could before. Many times Vista shows me that I am connected to the internet,infact I even am connected because Yahoo messenger signs in, but strangely firefox and IE don't respond porperly, i.e they say webpage not found for any of the webpages or it says the connection was reset. On the router (UT-300R2U) the lan led keep's on blinking fast, but then nothing happens.Also the the router configuration page it gives me this error : Ping Primary Domain Name Server test: FAILED , rest all are fine.Moreover google talk says that there might be a problem with your internet connection or chat services might have been blocked by your internet administrator and doesn't allow me to sign in!
Now a few day's before I read in the tutorial's section of this site that changing the DNS help's to improve perfomance. Anyways I did not change any setting but what is this DNS? Is it the solution to my problem. I googled it alot but those technical terms were a little difficult to understand. If anybody could shed light on this topic(In a little simpler terms pls
), it would be of lot help.Also can u guys pls help me in solving this problem! :S
