MTNL Mumbai Plan Changes

MTNL Mumbai has made a couple of changes to its triband plans.

1. In Rs.749 you now get 384kbps unlimited instead of 256kbps unlimited
2. Night Unlimited time is now 10PM to 8AM instead of 12AM to 8AM

Great news - but knowing MTNL, it may be prudent to first try the extra night time slots to do small downloads and see whether they charge for it or not !!

currenlty i am not able to use any P2P software on my MTNL broad band. is this coz of the broadband or coz of OS which is xp.

Make sure you have all the ports forwarded.

Just visited the MTNL, mumbai site...
They have updated this info

MTNL Broadband Internet Services Tariff Plans

Note that the page now says that the NU time change is only for NU849.

So for those on the older (now discontinued for new users) DU590 plan it may not be applicable.

Increase in unlimited download timings for Plan DSL NU 849

Dear MTNL Customer,
Till date Triband DSL NU 849 customers were getting unlimited download during the period from 00.00 hrs to 8.00 hrs i.e from midnight to morning.
Now onwards, Triband customers can have unlimited down load from 22.00 hrs to 8.00 hrs. Extended night unlimited usage is w.e.f 09-11-2009.

whats the upload and dowload in kbs??

i am usinf TTMR(tata tele) and i dont get the speed

256 /8 = 32 kbs but most of time i only get 20kbs

Frequent disconnection with MTNL networks... not only with me but lot other friends too, several complaints... few days OK & old story repeated again. I think time to change ....
