Mtnl triband and wifi problem (help needed)

I have a mtnl triband connection and use the utstarcom ut-300 r2u router.
I recently purchased a Netgear wireless router and tried setting it up with this connection.
I set everything up.
I can access the netgear setup page on both my desktop (wired) and laptop.
I can also access the utstarcom setup page on both.
I have interconnectivity on all 4 devices.
The problem is that adsl does not connect at all.
The data led lights up and then disconnects in a second. The adsl service connects when i plog the adsl router directly to the desktop but it does not connect to the wifi router.
Need advice.
Anyone?

What is the default IP of the MTNL router?? Chances are it is the same as your Netgear's IP. You need to make sure that both devices are using different IPs. Either that, or configure the MTNL modem in bridge mode and enable PPPoE on the Netgear router.

Both are set seperate ip ranges.
Bridging the adsl router and using pppoe in the wifi one is one solution
but, i cannot find pppoe in the connection typrs option in the wifi router.
anyone using bridge mode here?
kindly guide me how to set it up for mtnl

What is the model no. of the Netgear router?? I've had a WGR614 and it used to have a setup wizard which prevents one from seeing the setup options. If your router has the same wizard, that could be why you can't see the PPPoE option.
