MTNL Triband Query.

hello ppl,
after days and days of pondering i have decided to take the MTNL Triband NU connection.hope it will good enough..now as i will be getting the modem/router..will i have an entry to its settings so that i can unblock the ports i want? for eg.port no. 6881 for bit torrent or are they by default unblocked.in short will i get a green light in azureus as of now..my light is constantly yellow.
and are the bittorrent/emule speeds good at night?i use azureus/bitcomet/bitspirit..;) (keep shifting amongst them)

as far as i know you do not have to open any ports.. you can use bit comet at default settings (for both your modem and bit comet) to download at max speed.. :D
for Bit tornado, azureus you gotta open ports..

hi magnet..that site u gave aint opening.besides is it safe and legal to forward one's ports?and will i require a firewall?i am currently using zone alarm 5.5 pro.
 
safe and legal - yes. As long as you open only a few there shud be no problem. Port triggering is even better, if you know how to set it up (if it is available).
Firewall - well the ADSL modem has a built in firewall (all incoming ports are blocked by default) so there is no need for a software firewall (Tho, it does not provide outgoing alerts, which is sometimes useful in detecting a virus)
