[ MTNL ] What is this pop-up ?

For the past few days I notice this pop-up :

Always in the lower right of the browser window. Appears with Firefox and Opera.
Also on Chrome and Opera Mini on my mobile.
The ad is ALWAYS for MTNL.

Anyone able to block it ?
I'm using MTNL as ISP.

There was a call from MTNL while I was out.

Looks like they actually read e-mail complaints.

Please e-mail gmbbmbi@mtnl.net.in , even if it is just a line.

EDIT : I went thru the HTML/JS code of a web page that had the ad. Could not locate the code that injects the pop up, can some one point it out. Thanks.

Tried this out. Added the rule for port 80 & 443. Within an hour my net was dead. NO sites would be loaded, although DNS woudl resolve. Non Web traffic like torrents would work just fine and max out the link easily. Removed the rules & rebooted the router, everything back on track in a minute.
Repeated the experiment with the same results.

Install adblockplus plugin in firefox and adblock pro extension in chrome. Both are free and can be customized to block any element present on the webpage.

Right click the ad and select adblock this element.

better solution would be, check the source and find the ip address which is adding the ads. Then block that ip. May be add an `hosts` entry and redirect to localhost

I think you better lodge a complaint in CPGRAMS website.

Lets see what action they take.

IIRC, this needs to be blocked from router settings. I too received these messages, followed some guide and now they are gone

EDIT : Will post soon how to block it

Im having the same issue. I generally just close it using the "x" in the upper corner. But lately i've been thinking of something earier (read, im lazy )
Any good ideas folks?
