Mumbai address for bsnl 3g sim

i wanted to know if it is possible to get a bsnl 3g sim from the vasai office or any other around mumbai by giving a mumbai address proof

BSNL has it's offices in Mumbai that sells BSNL products including sim and recharges. One such office is Dadar Telegraph office. You can look in your area as well.

You can try purchasing BSNL sim from these offices giving your Mumbai address and saying that I plan to use it in Pune giving some excuse. No harm in trying.

I am not sure weather they sell cards or not but am darn sure that you can get a BSNL sim with your Mumbai address , no questions asked ,

its after all your address, they just need authentication !

I've enquired at Vashi office. They do sell Sim cards. Not sure about the address part.

Vashi telegraph office, near vashi depot AFAIK. In Ddadr it's dadar telegraph office, Near Dadar TT circle, in front of Pune Asiad Bust stand.

You can try at vashi telegraph office, near Petrol Pump (HP I think, Gaondevi Mandir is also near by landmark).

Although i took my BSNL SIM from Pune, they did not honour my driving license as address proof as it has Mumbai address and i had to produce my rent agreement and electricity bill as local address proof.

But i guess my case is different from that of OP's

^^ People are opting for BSNL because of their true unlimited plans and ability of using it in entire country including Mumbai and Delhi on MTNL network.

So its better to get an BSNL 3G rather than a MTNL here too ? ..... Interesting! No romaing charges while you are on MTNL network ? Also how are the tarrifs/services if I have to switch over from my Airtel to BSNL using MNP. I have been on airtel for almost 5 years now

^^Assuming you have a Airtel Mumbai number you cannot change to BSNL since it is not available in Mumbai circle. Better keep your airtel as it is and get a new BSNL 3G SIM.

And yes no roaming charges of BSNL when using in MTNL network.

Yes, it works. I have used 3G data card as well as 3G sim of BSNL in Mumbai and it worked without any issue.
