music composer + sound recorder?

i need a software ..no matter freeware or shareware which can record good voice from mic and on which i could compose my own music.
in short a complete song maker:hap2:

Reaper - its free for non commercial use.powerful as hell.even the pros use it

By composing you mean electronic music?if so take a look at fl studio or reason.

Audacity can record only one track.Reaper=unlimited.IF you are composing a song you probably needs a lot of audio tracks.

Software similar to FL + recording capability - well none.The only one is expensive - Reason+Record bundle.You can try ableton as well.

Compared to others FL is damn easy

I was just about suggest Fruity loops 9.
It does have a steep learning curve though.
