MX5021 help

It's a dual-lock panel. There's a small catch on the side of the slit. You have to move the slit towards the inside, and then pull at the long slit, the battery holder will come out.. You need two nails, or a flathead screwdriver with a small bit, to achieve this.

Whoaa so much work to open a remote..... looks like some design engineer really messed up in his design plans....:bleh:...

Hey man what is so difficult in removing it use the thumb nail to pull the latch inside and the index finger nail to pull at the long slit

yeah its a royal pain to open the remote. Not exactly a design flaw, but a seriously overlooked aspect of the design. The good thing is these batteries last for very long.

@Vandal, I forgot to tell you, it's going to be very painful for you. I upgraded the original battery with a Maxell CR2032 motherboard battery, which fit but is totally jammed inside as it's a few fractions of a millimeter thicker than the original. I hope you upgrade from the set in the next couple of years, that's when you'll have to change the battery next.

Having another question. About positioning. I've kept the two speakers on my computer table, while the subwoofer on the floor to the opp side where my cabinet is as I've heard it needs to be kept away from monitors and hard discs. What about UPS? Is it safe to keep it near the subwoofer?

Only CRT monitors are adversely affected. Hard disks can survive very strong magnetic fields, and static fields (caused by the types in speakers) cause even less harm than moving fields. Hard disks can't even be wiped out with a speaker touching the casing. I know. I've tried.

The MX sub is unshielded, so keep it away from CRTs. Everything else is fine.
