Looks like Logitech finally realised that there are lefties in the world :O.

HANNOVER, Germany — CeBIT — March 8, 2006 — Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI), the world´s leading manufacturer of computer mice, today announced the end of discrimination against the left hand. Some of the smartest and most creative people in the world favor their left hand, but they have always had to adapt to a world dominated by the right hand. While many have adapted well and become great achievers in spite of this hardship — Leonardo Da Vinci, Aristotle, Mahatmah Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill and Mozart, for example — left-handers finally have a choice when it comes to a computer mouse. Sculpted to fit the left hand, the Logitech® MX™610 Left-Hand Laser Cordless Mouse provides the same advantages afforded to the right hand, with Logitech´s precision laser tracking system, advanced cordless technology, navigation controls, and e-mail and instant message notifications.

Until now, most left-handed computer users, including Logitech president and chief executive officer Guerrino De Luca, have only had the choice of navigating with an ambidextrous-shaped mouse or unnaturally using their right hand to scroll, point and click — which can be awkward and frustrating.
“The MX610 Left-Hand Laser Cordless Mouse is now my mouse of choice,†De Luca said. “With people spending more time using a personal computer as they work, communicate and play, the comfort of a mouse has become increasingly important. Left-handers haven´t had great mouse choices until now. This new mouse allows them to take advantage of the same advanced Logitech mouse technologies as our right-handed customers, while using their favored hand to make computer navigation more efficient and their experience richer.â€

Well, this is finally good news for lefties.

But to be honest, I think this is overhyped.... I am not talking abt gaming mice here...

But for regular use, Lefties can easily adjust to these right handed mice.

I always use my left hand while browsing, playing music, etc.... Only when I am playing games, I use my right hand. So, it shouldnot be too difficult for lefties to start using their right hand for the mouse during normal Windows usage like browsing, playing music, etc.....

It is a cordless mouse Stormy :P Cordless mice are not suitable for gaming is what you pro gamers scream again and again :P

So, for what do they buy these cordless mice :P

That is me :P

So, you mean to say that these people buy this cordless mouse ONLY for casual gaming and then when they want to browse the net, they connect another mouse :P

What I said still makes sense :P

Well, the mouse like Mx518 can not be used by Left hahnded people, i mean its difficult for them. My friend who is a left handed user cursed me for buying MX518 when he used this mouse to play FEAR in my house:P,he even found it difficult to use the mouse normally. Afaik all the gaming mouse in logitech except G1 are designed for Right handers. So this mouse is will be usefull for the lefties:)

Will be retailing for 59.99$ eh.. I dont know how much it'll be in India:P

I am left-handed, can't get used to right-handed mice even after weeks.

And people don't buy cordless mice just for casual gaming. Infact, people who buy these generally play a LOT of different types of games than just CS and Quake. Only their primary interest isn't pro-gaming or precision.

I bought the Logitech Cordless Desktpop 3000 Laser last week and it came with the MX 600 right handed Laser Mouse which is basically the same mouse as the MX 610 with a difference that it does not have the email and messenger buttons/LEDs. I dont play GAMES - only use it for browsing and image handling and pressing start and stop buttons for videos.
I have put up a picture of my MX 600 mouse in my Rig Gallery page. LUV this rodent.

@GF --- whatever man.... if you cannot accept another person's point of view, then fine.

What I meant was that I as a righht hander use my left hand more often than my right hand when using the mouse EXCEPT for gaming.

So, why cant lefties adjust to a right handed mouse for standard usage...... Maybe not all lefties but then some certainly can adjust

Using the right hand isn't an issue for left-handed people, using right-handed products is. Try using a pair of thumbed scissors with the wrong hand.

Doesn't really matter. It's called the 'left' hand because it's what you're 'left' with when you can't use your 'right' hand. Otherwise logic dicates it be called the 'wrong' hand ^_^

Abbe Nikhil, was doing TP, dont take it to heart.

Your right, i was just trying to make you feel wrong :P :bleh:
