PC Peripherals My 2 PC configs...which one would be better?

Planning to assemble my PC. Following are 2 configs, which one would be better for 2D/3D animation (Flash, 3dsmax, Maya, Rhino), Video editing, Graphics and sometimes Games .

I won't be overclocking. Also need the machine to last me for atleast 3 years without any upgrades.

The 720BE is better than 810, not much difference betwn vx550 and vx650 for your config (even vx450 is fine for ur specifications I think), 4850 takes more power than 4770 but still beats it by around 10-15%.

^^Thanks. I might add another GPU later for CF. Hence selected these power supplies.

Arre.... Animation requires smthing like this

CPU:As many cores u can get (Intel Quad or Phenom II x3 or x4)

MB : As cheap as it can get

Case: Antec 300 (ur choice here coz it dsnt matter much)

GPU: 8800GTX 512MB (Softmodded to Nvidia Quadro FX 4600) or 8800GTS 640MB (Softmodded to Nvidia Quadro FX 5600) or 8800GT 512MB (Softmodded to Quadro FX 3700) or HD4870 1GB (Softmodded to FirePro V8700)

Performance of Quadro FX 5600 ~ FirePro V8700 ~ Quadro FX 4600 ~ Quadro FX 3700

Hence i shall recommend a 8800GT 512MB (QUaDRO FX 3700) for max VFM n G92 awesomeness. 4870 shall loot u of ur RAM money w/o giving performance boost.

PSU: Corsair VX450

RAM: Transcend DDR3 1333Mhz 2GB (1x2GB) TS256MLK64V3U

RAM: Transcend DDR3 1333Mhz 2GB (1x2GB) TS256MLK64V3U

More RAM -> Better For 3D, so try to take this figure to atleast 8GB plz

HDD: WD 1TB WD10EADS (32MB Buffer) or Seagate 1.5TB (32MB buffer n better performance than WD 1TB)

PS: A GPU softmodded into Quadro FX or FirePro performs more than 70-150% better than any normal GPU like 4770 or 4850 or 4870 in 3D work that u mentioned (3DS max, maya, rendering, editing, etc. etc.). And dont buy 4770 or 4850 as they are not moddable into FireGL/Workstation Cards

+1 sato1986: Work on 2D/3D animation and autocad /Solidwork work requires different GPU than those suited for gaming. QuadroFx takes the lead.

buy a good mouse and mouse pad....

Hey guys, i havnt filled the CPU section, plz recommend 2-3 high VFM quad/tri - core processors ranging from 5k to 10k so that the OP gets a choice.

My Guess wud be AMD Phenom X4 9950 BE @ Rs. 8550 is Best for the OP's requirements. Is it?

It is better to stay away from the first edition phenoms... They are not recommended... The Q8200 is a good processor

Thanks for the suggestions.

I had planned to have this a AMD specific machine, since I can very well consider a Core i7 system, if I wanted to go for Intel. And not bother about any others.
