... but I need to OC it ! How do I OC the mouse USB port ?

Logitech MX300
... there is a massive amount of clipping on the response at 15800 counts per second and 1 m/s (40"/s) ... The next step was to overclock the USB port to 1000Hz to see if I could stop the clipping of the mouse response at speeds higher than 1 m/s. The MX300 showed the most incredible performance boost of any mouse with overclocking. The clipping problems is completely solved, and we find that the mouse has Perfect Control all the way up to 3.91 m/s (154"/s). While the mouse resolution appears to be 400 DPI and not 800 as marked this mouse does perform superbly, displaying the highest range of Perfect Control.
The MX300 doesn't have some of the design features that make some other mice very good looking, but if you're just after raw performance its a winner.

final ranking score ...
The overclocked Logitech MX500 tops the chart despite being notoriously hard to find in stores. Following closely behind is the more recent Logitech MX518, which despite having a higher resolution lacks the Perfect Control that the older mouse manages without a problem. The overclocked Logitech MX300 isn't far behind, getting marked down a little for having less buttons.

Just theory, right ?

Dude, don't try any crap with it... that mouse is great and will work well even without the drivers :)

That mouse is one of the best ever. Tried searching for it India yrs back but was too expensive, that an MS IE1 are just amazing.

Somehow I dont like the new gaming mice, too big and heavy for my liking.

I guess what they meant by overclocking the USB port is using that tool USBRate to increase the polling frequency. Not sure about this, but I thought not all mice could handle the increased polling rates well ?

^^its' correct abt the incresing the poll rate..altough not many mice can go upto 1ms... :(

my IBM corp mouse maxes out @ ~450Hz & mx518 maxes out at @ ~700Hz

yeaa my MX310 is currently in top-5 :D . yea I increased the polling rate to 1000Mhz and there was less stability :| so I disabled and went back to the old one :)
