Thanks Ashu for the reply... I will be definitely contacting you if things are not going so smooth with the Nokia Care.

I am ready to give them 15 days max... Let's give them sometime to straighten things which are not in their hands...:cool2:

About 2 yrs back, had my Nokia N70 in service center for around 3 months and in midst it was returned to me thrice w/o repairing. So finally i lodged a complaint at their CC number in Banglore and man, i got a brand new N70, opened before me in Nokia SC within 4-5 days of lodging the complaint. And yes, i didnt had to call them up, they called me up and asked me to collect the replacement ! :ohyeah:

And yeah i also had complained about the rude behaviour of ppl out there and when i went to collect my replacement, not only was i greeted but also asked to sit in a cabin and offered tea while new box of N70 was being brought for me from the store :P

i had a strange issue when i was using Nokia 6230.. it would reboot whenever i would do heavy downloading thru PC using GPRS. Gave it to Nokia center for like 2-3 times but they were unable to help.. seems it was a manufacturing flaw in that model.

Finally wrote an e-mail to Nokia care and made a couple of calls. I soon recd a brand new upgraded model 6230i

So the bottom line is give Nokia service centers a reasonable chance to repair , but if still doesn't work as expected, escalate it to their helpline :)

Guys!!!!!!

Finally I have my mobile back...:hap2: On the 11th day(9 working days) :S

Definitely they flashed the phone. Its updated with the latest firmware. I still don't think that the mobile had a hardware issue. As far as I have inspected, the mobile is spotless.

It seems that the Nokia care guys don't know a s**t and they had just sent it to L3 just to flash the phone.

After getting the phone back, I put the mem card in that and it was taking a lot of time to recognize the card. Even after it had recognized , I had trouble opening the music files. It was asking for a key or something. (I remember someone else mentioning the same issue.) Anyway I gave a full format of the card and now its okay..

Is there any way to get that DRM files(songs) back. Anyway if it is not possible in an easy way, I don't care... I can load songs of my like, from my system.

Once again , Kudos to all guys who posted and kept my will going.. :D

I want to get some attention of anyone coming across this thread...

This thread does not mean that 5800 is NOT a good phone.

This thread confirms the sad reality that Nokia ASS is crap.

ASS- After Sales Service (Apt word , heh! :bleh:)

i dont think they would have just flashed the phone, probably they would have changed the flash IC, anyways congrats on getting your phone back:clap:

Is it ok for me to do any firmware upgrade and install some apps?. Will it screw up the ROM again. Any idea why it happened to my phone earlier?

Think of this question as from a user as the old saying goes....

Cat who fell into hot water will stay away even from cold water.(I don't know whether it is there in other languages, but malayali guys will recognize this :bleh:)

dont flash it :P if u got another 11 days time, flash it :D

i think its risky...

if u every trying flashing it, try from other PC.
