Hi,

My airtel connection takes a long time to connect, i dont know y, somtimes it connects very fast, but the other times it takes around 40-45 secs, more like a dial up :D,

I asked de ppl working at Airtel, dey said, its not a pblm, its like that 4 many ppl, is dat so???

n sometims i don get stable connection, wen i click on a link, its takes hours to go 2 dat site.. 4 eg: posting this thread took a long time, a very long time, my connection is 256 kbps

sometimes i hv to disconnect the hardware n reconnect it to de PC, ne suggestions?

i dont have the problem of connecting , but sometimes, it does take a long time to go to some sites. i have to wait like 5sec for the start loading. the reasons some ppl gave me is that cause im on a modem+router, it takes more time for the dns lookup than in dialup:huh:

ensure that you have not split connections before the line goes to the ADSL /POTS splitter

Also, you may want ask em for a ethernet based modem.....

If they don't sound too enthu bout the idea, tell them the USB modem causes ur pc to hang evry now n then

this happens wiht me on my mtnl triband connection too

it takes me a good 3 min to actualy connect to the server usually :(

and ya its because of parallel conneciton b4 the line goes to the adsl spltitter :(

he is using a USB modem which requires power connection, unlike the news one which gets power from the PC thro' USB port.

Avg is around 217 Kbps, but the connection sometimes is just idle, n i 'll hv disconnect, n reconnect(I mean the its power connection)..

217kbps is fine, must be your modem, check the power connxn to ur usb modem or try another modem, it is on rent right ...

nope, what extra costs, just tell that your harware engineer told that it is not compatible with your other components, there are issues
