Graphic Cards my BIG 6600GT doesnt work on 1st day

i bought BIG 6600GT finally!
but it doesnt work more then a minute in games.
it just freezes. is something wrong with that card? i have Iball 12+ 17A PSU which shall be fine. no artifacts in that 1 min of time
and my old MSI 6600GT which fried was working nicely on 400watts Colors it 15A 12v+ configuration.
so wat seems to be the problem? im worried :( card didnt work on 1st day :mad:
 
cant afford to get expensive psu now and my MSI 6600GT just worked fine on old PSU COlorsIt 400W. is ColorsIt better then Iball then i will get ColorsIt back if TEguru says so. and i shall try on that PSU so tell me ColorsIt has better quality? BTW my card is 525Core and 1050Mem factory OC :O
 
I dont thnk PSU is an issue here, just to be sure remove all your IDE drives other then primary hdd, and chck to be sure.
 
psu aint an issue .. see i've run my 6800u setup with a colorsit 400w for 15 days no problems afaik.
it whud boot and u shud able to play games for hours but its not recommended nor is safe.
 
^^^Temp is ok. Check your card in another system.

What driver are you using??? did you clean ur old driver and put the new one after installing the card.
 
is ColorsIt better then Iball as my old MSI 6600GT worked fine but my new card is not working. my friend said as its OC version, it requires high PSU ratings as the voltage required are high by the card.. so let me know is ColorsIt brand better then Iball? shall i get ColorsIt psu back?

Yea it can run nicely even for a year or more, but sooner or later the card will start panting due to the fact that it isn't getting clean power supply. All cheapo psu users have repented sometime or the other. It's probably the most ignored pc part when it comes to newbs and even veteran PC users sometimes.

@monalac: Isn't powersafe/antec/vantec available at your place ? You should go in for those. a Powersafe 400w would run your current config easily.
 
oh how much does Powersafe 400w psu cost at lamington road?
and please please tell me is my card corrupt again? why it hangs. i underclocked to 425/850 and it just ram fine like charm!! why so! my psu cant take the load of the GPU? and yes. ur right, PSU is most ignored part :D
 
The psu should cost you less than 1.5k iirc. And from what you've posted right now it certainly seems like the psu crapping out........So get a new psu and then test your card with it.
 
ok ill try out with my ColorsIt PSU 1st then ill try to get new 1. wat Ampere rating should i get minimum? BFG recommends minimum 18A on 12+v rail. so 20A 12+ will b enuff? why isnt my GT running on 17A Iball psu and my old msi worked like a charm on COlors it which was having 15A 12+v im confused.
 
So now where are the guys who were flaming me, on saying dont get BIG Cards eh?

I said, they have a 50-50% chance of failing. And voila!, theres more proof.

Its not the PSU.
I ran my X800XL on a 350W VIP for quite some time, and all was fine.

Its just the card. Get it replaced with an XFX/Leatek ASAP.

aditya wat u bluffing man.i underclocked my card and it just worked fine :hap2:

i have PSU prob.. BIG=BFG. it is same card as BFG has (BFG 6600GT OC) ditto card im having.

so my friend from abroad told me it is PSU problem he hav bet on it cause my card has increased voltages for memory and core as its factory default speed is 525/1050 whereas agp 6600gt doesnt hav such high clocks it is just 450-500/900 depending on manufacturer. he said i can take my gpu further to 600/1150 and i will b only able to run my card if i have ratings of 20A on 12+
so wat do u have to comment on this now. the only problem is this is supercharged card.
 
Im not bluffing.
They get really bad yield's of GPU's, thus under clocking is fine.

A New PSU wont help...

BIG = BAD YIELD BFG Cards... Its not the same.
BFG uses the best yields, BIG uses the worst. Thus underclocking help's it.
 
^^Big = bad yeild bfg cards??? What makes u think nvidia will sell bad yeild 6600 GT's anyway, and that too to BFG? If the yeild is bad, they'll sell it as a vanilla or at the worst as a 6600LE. And a VIP psu is better than colorsit or iball hence urs might have worked.
 
lol im so happy. i got my card replaced and it works rock solid 0n my ColorsIt 400W. BIG 6600GT AGP ROCKS! its OC version 525core/1050mem. same card as BFG 6600GT OC same looks, same function :D
