Hey mates,

After a crappy Valentines Day, I get the best news ever !!:ohyeah:

My sis is getting me a brand new PS2 slim from Germany.. she got a great deal on ebay. Now considering this will be my first console (after the atari I played as kid), I'm really excited.:clap: Goodbye lonely nights.. Welcome sleepless ones (well spent I must add)!!

Now the opinions I need.

  • Where can I get original games at decent rates ? (GT4, RE4, PoP TT, NFSU MW are on the top of my list) . I live in Mumbai. I also might need to buy another controller as well as a memory chip.
  • Should I mod-chip the baby to play backed up games ? Right away Or Should I wait until at least some part of my warranty period is through?
  • Any known/trusted person/s with whom I can get it done? Recommended Modchip models?

The Mods are most probably gonna freak out on some of the answers.. I would be really grateful if you guys could PM or email me with controversial details ;)

I Recommened u to mod ur PS2 as the orignal games in india cost a bomb ! Plus u might not get all the latest orignal games , but if u mod ur ps2 u will be able to run the ahem.... games which r easily available everywhere !
 
Legit games should cost you around 3-4k per copy, in case of modchips for playing backup copies you can get one done in Alpha or just about any shop that sells ps2s. Should cost you around 1.5-2k.

You are gonna need a memory card anyways, that'll set you back by another 500-600.

Sony won't offer any warranty unless the ps2 has been brought here.
 
You live in Bangalore too?:D What games did you last see there for the PS2? I usually get my games from Ebay since the game collections at most places are horrid.:bleh:
