Hey guys jus had a chat wid a senior dell executive..he's ready to send me the following configuraton for Rs.43,000!!!!:hap2: :ohyeah:

@ superczar: its not a t2080 in my opinion, its prob a t7100 (and a typo prob @ 1.8 ghz.) cause im certain vostro comes only on c2d.

@ party monger: hey y not get the inspiron 1420 instead, cause in India, unlike us the vostro is more expensiv tan the inspiron. Hence it makes more sense to buy an inspiron. And im certain you would get the same specs with windows and maybe camera for 43k in inspiron. might just have to bargain again. And remm the best time to bargain with dell sales people is friday. they have to meet targets weekly.
 
OP says dual core which is basically Intel's marketing term for the 1MB core duos (T20xx)

if it's a T7100 then it's certainly a good deal
 
Vostro has 5470 proc. which is 1.6ghz and 800 mhz v/s the inspirons 5250 which is 1.5ghz @667mhz fsb. Is the performance of the former worth the extra 4000 spend??

Superczar said somethin about bad screen. Are Dell display worse than Toshiba or Sony.

@mk151: well not all dell displays are bad, im using a inspiron 1505, and the display scores over my friends vaio c series and toshiba tecra. But reviews state a little bleeding on the screens of the new vostro line.though I have seen 1 vostro 1500, and its display showed negligible to no bleeding.
 
ya i checked out d inspiron,,, does not have 5470proc. all other hav 600fsb...5470 has 800fsb...N t7xxx r costly..
N d same config is costin more..
Though its a 120gb hardisk instead of 80gb...
Or maybe someone can show a better config in others like hp , acer , lenovo, hcl n all....I want dedicated graphics...

Well my sales rep gave me a straight 3k off when i placed my order yesterday .....i didnt know you could have helped ....anything you can do after the orders been placed ? Speed up delivery .....? If theres anything you can do please drop me a message. Thanks !
