My Die-Cast Collection (Warning: Lots of Photos!)

Hello folks,

I'm starting this thread to post photographs of my entire die-cast model collection. By die-cast models I'm including the entire gamut of scale model makes of vehicles, motorcycles, aircrafts and choppers. More than a show-off, this is going to be a sort of photographic tale of my collection of these models through the years stretching from my childhood till now.

I don't have too many in my collection, and they aren't always very expensive either but that being said the one's I do have, I cherish and take care of. After all we love our hobbies and always manage to spare time for them even in the spitefully busy lives of ours. I do happen to buy scale models from time to time and will keep this thread alive by posting photographs of the new one's I get... along with the older one's I already have.

I'll begin with these few photographs of my very favorite retro cars from Hot Wheels which my Father gifted me, way back in the golden 80's...

The above models have a fair amount of discoloration and wear due to the fact that I played with these for countless hours as a kid.

Oh man. I had the train engine and couple of compartments as well in childhood Also that space shuttle one. nostalgia.

I remember when I was small, having movable parts like doors on die cast cars automatically made you the baddest SoB in town

Scale: 1/55. Made in Lyon, France. Year of Manufacture: 2001.

Scale: 1/61. Made in Hong Kong. Year of Manufacture: Mid 1980's.

Corgi Juniors Vintage Chevrolet 'Adidas' Delivery Van
(This was bought by my Father in 1973 from a die-cast scale model shop in Swansea, Wales).

Vintage Lone Star Routemaster Bus (The London Double Decker Bus)

This Lone Star Routemaster Bus is a treasured possession in my collection... truly. It's the oldest die-cast scale model that I have and was made in 1960. So, yes it's 56 years old now as I'm typing this in 2016! It was bought by my Father in the year 1979 in London as a souvenir. (It was still being sold there in London as a souvenir of the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth III). My father gifted this to my Mother as a memento. Now, it rests with me. The scale of the model is 1/120.

Vintage 1906 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost (Made in 1984 in Hong Kong)

This RR Silver Ghost actually came as a token of appreciation with a Reader's Digest magazine subscription. It was a small memento offered by them way back during the mid 1980's for signing up with their monthly subscription offer back then. My Mother got one of these and kept it in one of the showcases in our house then. Decades later, now, it's one of the most prized possessions in my die-cast model collection!
