My friend very sad and going mad...Reccomend a good councelor in Bangalore

just google for the results for a psychologist in bangalore and go to the one nearest to your location or ask some doctor / family doctor for references. i foresee this thread being closed pretty soon!

Arey...my intention was to find a trust able doc....if someone or their friends/relative have been to one and they like the doc..maybe he can share !

I know her issues..they are not something huge ...but they are taking its toll on her !

Sorry, but what kind of friend of yours is this?? She didn't discusses her problem and wants you to take her to a doctor?? :O

Or you are afraid or shy of mentioning the problems here :P :lol:

I feel, you should wait for some time for this to cool.

If the problem still persists then you may seek counseling.

Heck, one of my friends had similar issue and wanted to go to a Psychiatrist.

I told to wait for some time and when things cooled off, there was no need for one.

Even i had some issues and thought of seeking help but then things have a way of settling for itself, if we wait patiently.:)
 
I appreciate all your concerns but all I want is few names :)...She might not go but if she wishes to she wants a trustable doc :)

There was a guy known as eggman

A little confused, just like his female friend

Didn't know what to do, how to help..

i thought there was a doctor - patient confidentiality that they talk about in frasier. OOOh then there is something known as transference in psychiatry .. . . . watch out for that !! :)

I think it doesn't permit to only this place. If you just about whisper a girl's name in a group filled with loads of men, this will happen. :P
 
I think that therapy has a really bad rep in India and considering that we are becoming more and more westernised we should also be able to accept psychology/psychiatry as something that could be helpful to relatively normal folk and not just the ones that need electroshocks.

Even if you really have no problems imo it should help to be able to talk about yourself without restraint to someone and get an outsider's perspective without judgement. What's so demeaning about that?

Btw, what eggman is doing is apparently called "codependence".

Anyway, I think the best bet in Bangalore would be to go to NIMHANS (http://www.nimhans.kar.nic.in/psychoclinic/psychoclinic.htm) and then decide from there as per their directions.
