Storage Solutions MY HDDs Going To Be Dead ???.....:(

simply goto the nearest seagate rma center and tell them the hdd has bad sectors and have problems with partitions.

Seagate's service sucks in Kolkata!

Yesterday went to Seagate service center.

Took more that 2 hours to submit a HDD.

And u must have to register for warranty service.

Then they told me they will send SMS at least after 7-10 days.

And the bad thing is they told me they will repair my HDD even they will find any bad sector.

But,Samsung is better.

Two years ago I took my my HDD with bad sectors and they replace that on the spot.

They only took serial no. and ask my name and contact no.

Took less than 1 hour for whole process.

I will never buy never buy Seagate again if they don't replace with new one in sealed pack.

Better I will buy Samsung or WD HDD.

Though I have no experience about WD HDD......

I got the following status on ACCEL website about my HDD RMA.

"DefectiveItemstatus - Blocked for Allocation - Escalated Items"(Date 30th September).....:huh:

What's the meaning of this ?

there is no cheating involved unless you are having your worst day of your life, the warranty are on the serial number & you will get your replacement.

It means it's waiting to be sent to chennai for replacement/repair. I'm positive that's where all hdds from seagate go for rma. I had my ide hdd replaced few weeks back. It took them more than 20 days for the replacement though, sadly.
 
If u got a brand new HDD after 20 days then u may have no complain.

This is the 7th day.

But,if after 20 days u got same old fcking HDD then Seagate got totally fcking service.....:@

Yeah, the sticker or whatever on the hdd says certified repaired hdd or something. And yes, they did make me wait for almost two hours because accel's servers were down at a time when it was raining very heavily and I was soaking wet and had come by a bus. I wasn't happy. Thankfully I have bought my 1tb sata from samsung so if anything goes wrong I can atleast expect a better service.
 
hi, till now i was changed two new HDD and 5 times through service and that too getting long time late like 15-20 days dont buy seagate products buy WD r samsung

seagate says that you got a new hdd but u never get a brand new ,you will get some other shitty repaired hdd .
 
hmm. I went to Seagate service centre twice to submit two damaged HDDs (accidental damage, fall to ground). It just took couple of minutes to submit the HDD and the service guys were really good (Bangalore, near SP Road). First time, they didn't accept the HDD coz I didn't take anti-static cover along and had to purchase one from SP Road. Both times, there were no questions asked. Took the HDD, checked serial number. both times, I got replacement HDD after a week. They were very professional.

@anilreddyv99, if your HDDs are failing like that, I would recommend you to check your PSU and power supply, cabling etc. A bad power supply or power supply cable or data cable can also cause HDD crashes.

seagate says that you got a new hdd but u never get a brand new ,you will get some other shitty repaired hdd .
At the first day they already said that they will repaired my HDD even they found Bad Sectors and it will take 7-10 days.....:@

And already 10 days passed but no SMS from them.....
 
Got status "Ready for Delivery - Replacement Allotted" when I was checking on Accel page today.
What is the meaning of this ?
Will they going to replace my HDD with new one or old ?
Sorry,I'm kinda noob.
What should I do when I will take back my HDD from Accel center ?
I mean will the check for me if the HDD is new or working or my old HDD or some thing like that ?

So,it was band new HDD in sealed pack or a old working HDD ?
Did u check ur new HDD before leaving service center ?
