History:
0. I have (had) an iphone 2G running v2.2.1
1. I clicked on (Reset all settings and data) :ashamed: .
2. The phone took about an hour before it came to the screen "with the cable and connect to itunes logo".
3. Then I tried to install firmware version 2.2.1 .. the process seemed to proceed normally until it reached 100% .. it took about 20mins there and then it hung up for 20mins .. suspecting a problem I unplugged the cable and tried to do it again.
4. After a couple of failed attempts it worked again ...but hung up at 100%.
After that it has been all downhill .. the phone now restarts (at the point where the progress bar on the phone is displayed) everytime I try to install a firmware.
So far I have tried using the following firmwares:
v2.2.2
v2.0
v1.1.4
2.2.0.2
v2.0.2
I get the following error "The phone could not be restored error(6)". I am running Windows Vista Home Premium x64.
I tried doing this on a friends PC with Windows XP SP3 .. same problem.
Went to Alpha at VileParle ... same problem on their PC...the phone just would not accept a firmware and restarted when the firmware is just about to be pushed in.
The suggests that its a problem with the mainboard and needs to be replaced (for 4.5k).
pls help
