Laptops my laptop's Stand-By mode not working

till a few days back it was fine...i used to put the lid down and the laptop used to go on standby...but now its not happening..i checked the power settings too...also the standby option frm the shutdown menu isnt working either...wht might b the problem ??
i have a Dell Latitude D620 laptop...

Just a guess, try reinstalling the Dell Quickset application.

Call 1800-425-8045 ( Dell Technical support ). They'll help irrespective of warranty validity.

did a shutdown ystrday (after a long time) and now the standby has started working again ..dunno what happened...sorry for bothering u guys....
