My PC wont Boot!!!

Hey TE's...
I dont know whats the problem with my pc, but it just wont boot up. It just gets stuck up at the bios screen and thats it. My keyboard also hangs up. AFAK, It was working fine till some 3-4 days ago and when i started my pc today, it refuses to boot.I am posting a screenie of the OS where it hangs...
Any idea what could be the reason and how to solve it..
Thanks..

also don't forgot to reset your ram. Sometime this kind of freezing happened if ram is dislocated. if you have two ram then try one after another. Remove HD, DVD RW, GFX card, sound card (if any), also remove any usb attachment including keyboard mouse. then post result back. Also the amount of dust on your desk is worried me that if CPU fan is moving in full speed.

regarding stripping, i am sure i wont be able to make those components fit again... :-(

So i trried only with HDD, had a torrid experience last time when i upgraded my ram(display was going kaput), hence didnt fiddle with ram. No touching the processor(tried to remove the wet dust accumulated) but it needs rigorous cleaning(read washing).

I was thinking of going for a new cabinet which would have dust blocking. But the CM elite 370 model seems to be higher side of budget. Can anyone confirm the prices without the PSU. It seems this model is not available on theitwares. I already have a VIP 500W PSU.

Dude, Most often cause of this problem will be RAM. Most simple solution will be to take out RAM then 1. RAM slot pe zor se do baar phoonk maro, 2. Take a simple eraser and rub and clean every bit of gold u see onRAM strip, Put the RAM back again and 90% of the time U R Done.

phoonkne sat thukna mat.

lol I almost wrote a poem :P

as I said earlier try removing the ram clean it and then fit into the slot again not forcefully but firmly.

Your laptop is failing the POST I think, the BIOS needs to be reset.

I dont think you can manually do that yourself on a laptop, it'd be best to call a technician.

I don't think its laptop. check the 1st pic.

@OP

You can reset your desktop either by shorting of CMOS jumper or removing the battery then power up and power down.

My Bad, then reset your CMOS and check your BIOS for any changes. Check the date and time in the BIOS and if its incorrect or shows an earlier date, the CMOS battery could also be the cause.

See that all settings in the BIOS are okay.

Bios settings should be ok since my keyboard freezes after the display pic as shown in first post. I will try resetting the desktop and post the results.

Thanks for ur comments..

^ what is your mobo? Have you updated to the latest BIOS, might be because of BIOS bugs :)
Intel DG35EC. I would never go for bios updates coz they arent the software to be played around. Too scared.

BTW, i wanted to ask, can i keep my pc on without the CMOS battery. atleast this will give me the idea to get a new battery or not.

^ After going through replies it seems your hardware skills are irrelevant to the problem, better lend it over to service center or the next skilled person. Anyway problem could be due to..

1. Hard Disk.

2. If any, addon cards like Wifi, bluetooth, etc.

3. Stuck keys, loose keypad, touchpad or any other connector.

4. CMOS settings / corrupted BIOS.

5. RAM

6. Motherboard.

I ignored power adapter and weak battery part including external USB devices.;)

This most probably is a POST problem, related to your BIOS. There is some or the other setting hardware related in your BIOS which isnt right and that is preventing POST to clear and let the PC boot.

Or maybe there is some faulty hardware attached to your PC, For eg. Addon PCE cards which is preventing passed POST. Check your motherboard manual there must be a way to know if there is a RAM error or CPU/Chipset error.

For eg. beep codes, LED lights on your motherboard etc.

If you do not know how to go about the BIOS then please call a technician and let him handle things for you.
