My Ugly experience with Nivyah Broadband - Frauds with Fake Plans

Let me tell you the whole story step by step.

First when I saw their ad in the newspaper,i made a visit to their website. The site is packed with Viruses as my McAfee and many other Internet Security Software's pointed out.Still I took the danger and ventured inside.I saw the plan and was astonished.

It said 1mbps unlimited - Rs.529 per month rental with Rs.1655 installation charges

Then I picked up the phone and gave them a call and set an appointment. They said their executive will come in 3 days.He didn't come.I called again, they said their executive will come tomorrow.Again he didn't come.Like this till 3 weeks i called around 20 times, still he didn't come. They say their executives are limited and the demand is so much that they are unable to meet it.So I spoke to their senior and finally the executive arrived the next day.He collected the payment of first month rental and installation charges and told that the connection would be made within 7 days.

Next the Cable operator through which they distribute the connection, shows up at my house. They say we are beginning the installation, please fill our form and gave me their tariff details.Actually they didn't even know which plan I applied to Nivyah.Their Tariffs were different from the Nivyah tariffs.

So I called Nivyah. They give me a tel no. of their Head of Operations Office.I called many times and nobody picked up.Finally their Head of all the operations officer picks up.She said she will speak to the cable operator. The cable operator head calls me and tells me that Nivyah only provides them customers, from there onwards they charge their own tariffs which were Rs.2300 for 1mbps.

So now I called their Head of Operations Officer back, she asked me my name and as soon as I told them my name she hung the phone and since then they are avoiding me.Whenever I call from from the same number, they don't pick up but when I call from a new unique phone number then they pick up.They are clearly avoiding me now.

Thankfully for me,they hadn't in-cashed the Cheque in till now,I immediately called my bank blocked that Cheque I made to Nivyah. And thankfully i didn't tell my current ISP to stop his connection
BOTTOM LINE:The plans on their websites are totally fake. They are just distributors of customers to cable internet operators. They don't provide connection themselves, they just give your just your name, telephone, address details to their contracted cable operators and those cable operators will charge you their own tariffs.Heck, they don't even have their own customer service helpline.Once you pay them, they don't provide any support. You have to ask your cable internet operator for everything. The tel no. on their website is only a sales tel no.

Oh

i suspected that

their tariffs on site were so good to be true, and as always 'everythin which is so good to be true will mostly turn out to be fake', and this case is no different.

I think that your cable operator is trying to rip you off. This is a regular occurrence with unscrupulous cable operators who are out to make a quick buck while ripping off Nivyah customers.

It's pretty clear that the cable operator is trying to mislead you into paying extra for the connection, and the tale that your local "Cable Operator" has spun about Nivyah providing cable operators with customers is rubbish; these operators are out to make a quick buck. There are members here on TE who have applied for Nivyah connections and have been charged the rates advertised on the website which disproves the claims of the cable operator.

In the course of my interaction with Nivyah I have found them to be pretty professional though somewhat disorganised. Its been 5 days since I applied for a connection after paying the rates advertised on their site I'm currently waiting for the installation guys to show up (They've stated that installation should take about 8-10 days).

You should have stopped right there.

Thanks for sharing this info. At least many will be saved from this fraud!

nivyah is working quite great at our area suji (we both are sanpada residents) and many of our friends are using it..

it depends on cable operator re.

our OM-Star is good !

why cant the OP take legal actions?

If they are not providing plans directly to end user then they should also deny connections directly to the end user.

I would say that its your greed that kept you going after this point. :P

Ever heard of the saying "If its too good to be true, then its not true". You already had a glimpse of how bad their service is even before they took your money and even then you persisted. In the end, you simply got what what you were asking for. Good for you that you were at least able to get your money back.

If he has sufficient proof and patience, I think he should.

actually i did stop calling them when they didn't send their executive but after that i got a call from their sales department which i missed,so i started calling them again.

At the rates and the speeds they were providing,it was very hard to say no.Yeah,i got a little too greedy but learnt my lesson.Next time will let other users try it first.

another ISP like Exatt........

one thing I have understood is "Never ever take a Internet connection which is being provided through local cable operators"

I've had my bad experiences

Exatt provides thru Spearhead in Bandra(W), Mumbai

Hathway provides thru WIN Cable in Bandra(W), Mumbai

as far as legal action is concerned, the case has to be submitted to the local consumer court and the process takes over 6 months and a lot of hard work.

It becomes easy when there is a group of customers say 40-50, willing to take legal action, which then the case can be submitted to the sessions court making the course of action far easier and faster.

well i too dont have any problems as i have a 2 mbps day and 4 mbps night for 995 a month... god im lucky

Nivyah is Chor they I am having 2MBPS plan but getting only 20kbps speed

exatt is much better they have 10MBPS plan for just 400 bucks a month in my area

Too bad man, I heard a few rip offs in my area, If pacenet charges 75kbps pack 300rs the cable operator charges 400 - 450rs.

Pacenet never disclosed the actual amount of package, they say contact your cable operator, which means pacenet charges one fixed amount from cable op & cable op charge with their profit.

all thgese local broadbands

give only speeds to limited schemes

when it comes to internet ata is the only one whcih gives competet 2 mbps ibn its night unlimited plan

tat is great

accep it has some flaws in their cxonnection system

and now a days fup

Finally got niyhah connection .Subscribed to their 512Kbps which doubles at night...Its a total waste plan...am getting hardly about 45kBPS during daytime which goes to atmost 50KBPS at night...:@ Am totally fed up as why i took this connection...please guys don't get fooled by their low prices&speed offered...

Well I have their 1 MBPS connection which turns to 2 MBPS and its awesome. In the nights i get max speeds upto 250 kbps. So far I having a real good experience with them. I normal speak to Only Himanshu from Nivyah and he is really helpful.
