My yahoo account is compromised - plz help

Hello guys, for the past one week i am not able to login to my yahoo email account. Today i came to know that the security question which i chose during ID registration has been changed and concluded that my account has been compromised.

Now i came to know that i can contact yahoo through this email and ask them to restore my account - account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com. I read that i will asked for some credentials based on which my account might be released. Can i give any info if any reply comes from this support ID ?. Because some people suspect it to be a hacker ID

Is the above ID realiable or is administered by any hackers ?. Please reply me guys....

This is yahoo's fault also because their server is weak, right ??
 
Its not Yahoo's fault that their servers are weak, its user's fault that their secret questions are weak. Its trial & guess method.

Every T, D & H cant hack into Yahoo servers :)

If you remember your old secret questions & answers, it might be of help. If you dont remember them then there is no way they will help you on that email ID.
 
Yahoo sucks, unfortunately all u will get is automated reply..

my account was also hacked in 2004..thankfully gmail was started in the same year and i shifted to that.. i've been trying to get back the account since then..finally got it last year..one of the previous passwords i used had suddenly worked..but i dont use it anymore.. try previous passwords!
 
Its pretty common with yahoo ... even i lost one of my accounts but after like 6-8months later my old pass and security ans was working with no probs i still cant figure it out why !!
 
I sent email to the above address asking them to restore my acoount and they have done it the next day itself after asking some questions relating to the account. Now my account is back. And there are no modifications or any new mail relating to the hacker in my inbox. Very strange. Is anything wrong with yahoo servers itself ? Cant understand.

Try that guys... And see that your password is strong.... But i doubt whether my account is hacked because i cant find any alterations in the account except the security question.. Still cant come to a conclusion....
 
They would have restored from a storage backup checkpoint before the point they saw the compromise happen.
 
may be. But m very happy. Guys can u plz tell me for what purpose these hackers are hacking our email account ?. To fetch private info ?. Imo wat can they do with our account wer we dont store our passwords or anything which should be secured ?

What is their goal ?
 
^^ for fun might be... i was really pissed off when my "sent items" stored for 8 years vanished few months back.. apart from that nothing had been changed in my account.
 
I couldn't sign into my yahoo account for like a week. Created another id and shifted all the contacts and stuff and then it started working. :rolleyes:
