Storage Solutions NAS with p2p client

I'm looking for a NAS which has capability of running torrent client.

I have a couple of external laptop drives in spare so Hard drive space is not a problem for me.

I want the NAS to play nice with my iPad & it should have a decent torrent client which won't be banned on good private torrent tracker sites.

Any suggestions in an economical price range?
 
Power consumption will be slightly higher in DIY systems, but the advantage is taking off shelf hardware and using it. Plus greater customization and cheaper cost.
 
I am not from Delhi so no idea about Nehru place.

Most of the stuff can be found online. But don't know about Atom processors.

Also add your budget details.
 
My budget is around 5-6 thousand.

I have got 1 GB 200-pin PC2-5300 DDR2 (667 MHz) SO-DIMM RAM to spare as well as a couple of 2.5" SATA laptop drives.
 
i don't think ddr2 ram will work with atom processor and atom processor as such is not available

But you can buy the mobo+processor combo for approximately 3-4k based on features if you opt for fanless one the price may increase.

I would strongly advice you to buy some thing that is pre made like zyntexl i think on ebay or search on tigerdirect or new egg etc..

bcoz they consume low power and you don't have to worry about its setup

But DIY is always good as you can simply replace the faulty part provided that parts are available.
