Guys....

I picked up an i20 - Magna around 3.5 months ago. Now I need a second car, for my office commute which is 22 km one way. I want a small car (smaller than i20) because parking is PITA near my flat. What I would want as standard:

1. Diesel.

2. Smaller than i20 (but not i10).

3. All 4 windows power chained.

4. Decent mileage.

5. Not Maruti Suzuki stable.

6. Ease of steering and maneuvering since I learnt to drive couple of months back and am not that clean of a driver.

7. PRICE<=5L

What would you all suggest. Ford Figo and Chevy Beat seem good. Let me know.

Both are good options. I drive a Beat(P) and its very easy to drive. Its even smaller than Figo AFAIK. But Figo has a pretty nice diesel engine going by reviews.

In short, With Beat you will get tighter dimensions, higher mileage and all 4 power windows and with Figo you will get a better/more powerful diesel engine(at the cost of slightly lower mileage), wider backseat but no version has rear power windows AFAIK. Beat has much better suspension, figo has much better handling.

Test drive both and choose accordingly.

^^

You had mentioned that the BEAT driving wheel is hydraulic type. Is that hard to drive with, vs. electronic.

only issue will be at high speed and normal speed, hydraulic steering will be giving same feedback .

whereas electronic power steering gives stiff handling at higher speed.

i would suggest ford figo.

nice zippy engine.

Actually from what I read on team-bhp yesterday, the new petrol beat comes with an electronic power steering only. So I am guessing the diesel does too.
