Alrighty.

Gaming eh. Well, presently AMD it is.

Id say..

AMD Opteron 165 Dual Core Socket 939 - ~Rs.18000/-

Asus A8N-E Mobo - ~Rs.6000/-

512MB*2 Transcend Samsung UCCC RAM. ~4300/-

BIG 7900GT (get in touch with Darklord, check the Market Section) Rs.22500/-

http://www.techenclave.com/forums/7600-7900-nvidia-cards-for-sale-68449.html

HDD's are upto you. 250GB Costs ~Rs.5000/-

DVD-RW BenQ 1655 w/ LightScribe ~Rs.3500/-

PSU - Antec NeoHE 500W ~Rs.6200 or Antec TP2 550W ~Rs.7000

(Id advise go with the NeoHE, its making its way here on the 17th of this month, Me, x86 and Anish have already Confirmed :)).

Comes to about Rs.65000 a Bit over budget. Plus a decent Cabinet will cost you Rs.2000

This is a REALLY GOOD, Gaming PC.

i will not suggest a dual core for gaming ..... better get a 144 or 146 opty .... there are no game which uses DC processor and even in future i think it will take 1-2 years for game to be DC aware ..... better spend the remaining money on graphics card and all .....

Ur wrong there rahul, quake 4 and BF2 do make use of DC, tho considerable difference is seen only in quake 4. But if u have the money to spend, dual core makes complete sense. All future games, including some which are gonna release this year are gonna make use of DC. And it will be particularly good for using Vista as well. A few changes to Gf's rig i would suggest is goin with a better mobo. DFI Lanparty Nforce 4 ultra D and also 2 GB of ram(2X1GB UCCC sticks). And spending 65k on the components and 2k on the cabby does not make sense. Go for a better cabinet.

Rahul, Every1 new game coming out will be MultiThreaded.

Quake 4, BF, and FEAR, already benefit.

UT2007, will be the best Dual Core vs. Single Core test :bleh:

In UT2007, my Pentium D Will perform better than an Opty 146 even @ 3 Ghz :).

i know about quake4 ... even the quake3 was multithreaded ..... if u talk about future gaming have u seen any game with DC support i mean if u leave quake4 and BF2 (tho i am not sure if BF2 supports DC if u have any link please post) ..... game developers are announsing new games with SM3.0 and HDR and all new features have u heard about DC game support...... lemme tell u games will take at least 2 years to be fully compatible with DC ...... and about vista it will also take 1-2 years to completly stable and ready with all drivers ...... so y purchase a PC for the things which are going to be norm in 2 years ..... i willl say better spend the money in graphics card and live in present .....

Hey Jalsa777,
I hope you are not Big B or AB's Baby!!:cool2:

Anyways, you need to give us a rough config for your rig!!:cool2:

Like EGG JHACTLY what you have in mind??:P

Everyone has a rough idea, like a year back, most would prefer an A64 3000+, then it was the OPteron144/146 and now the 165 or 170 DC cpus.

But these are well exploited by skilled members by overclocking and using TP cooling stuff, good PSU, etc!!

You plan to Overclock??

Please give us a rough idea of your rig and maybe then members can help in the correct manner!!:cool2:

I mean a break up of your overall budget, as in Rs.'x' for cpu, Rs.'y' for GFX card, 'z'GB of HDD, 'q'MB Ram, etc.
