Hi Everyone,

I am planning to buy viewphone 3 in Kolkata, from Axis Mall... So guys can you guys suggest whether I should go for this or not?

I checked it out at Reliance Digital. It's a good looking phone, but colours on the screen appear washed out. And though it's got a 5mp camera, it can only record video at VGA resolution.

Otherwise it's okay. The screen's decently responsive, and it's fast enough.

I wouldn't buy it though. It'll probably never get a software update so you'll be stuck with Android 2.3 forever.

Wait a bit. Affordable dual-sim 4.0 Androids running on a 1ghz processor with nice screens should be just around the corner.

What I would want in my phone

1) a decent 3-5mp cam with 720p video recording.

Not available in current dual-sims.

2) Android 4.0

Not available in current dual-sims.

3) Screen resolution of atleast 800x480

Not available in current dual-sims.

4)Battery life of atleast 1 day with heavy usage.

Not available in current dual-sims.

5)RAM >= 512MB

Available in only a few dual-sims. In most cases it's not mentioned.

6)Fast processor+ decent gpu

Not available in current dual-sims.

If you're willing to compromise on all the above points then you can buy any of the current Micromax's, Spices, Karbonns etc.

The Viewphone 3 looks really nice, and feels solid. You can buy that as well. I haven't seen any of the Micromax or Spice Androids, so I can't compare the build quality.

The LG P968 is another option. It's got a smaller screen than the others, but should give you better battery life and better warranty support than Micormax/Spice.

You can also look at Micromax A73/A75 if you don't mind the Micromax brand
