@cyberpyrate this is what I suggest --

Intel Core i5 3450 ~12500/-
GIGABYTE-B75M-D3H ~4500/-
Corsair Vengeance OR G.Skill RIPJAWS 4GB x2 1600MHz ~3600/- [OR 2x 2GB RAM modules so that you get the dual-channel bandwidth advantage]
HP [boxed] optical drive ~1000/-
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB [64MB cache] ~5000/- OR Western Digital Blue Edition 1TB ~4800/- [if you want 500GB stick to that]
AMD HD7850 2GB ~16000/- [no point going for a HD68** series card now]
Cooler Master GX450W ~3000/- OR Seasonic S12II 520W ~4200/- [much better if you go for the latter as it allows a lot of headroom for future expansion]
NZXT Gamma OR Cooler Master eLite 430 BLACK ~2800/- OR 3000/- [the NZXT Gamma should be available at Prime ABGB in Bangalore apart from Golccha IT Trade, S.P. Road --> http://www.techenclave.com/general-talk/primeabgb-now-bangalore-137217/#post1702590]
DELL IN2030M ~6500/-
APC BR650VA-IN ~2800/-
LOGITECH K200 combo ~700/-

Hope this helps, Cheerio!

OP should get 22" Full HD monitor withing that budget,Not getting one would be a drawback for gaming and all work.DELL ST2220L-8.5k is a perfect fit.

I am already blowing over his budget, do not want to face more flak on that topic and most importantly he has listed the monitor himself.

I myself use a 20" monitor so do plenty of my friends and I find them decent for gaming and work, in-fact if I had a 22" monitor my HD5770 would be redundant by now for gaming. Cheerio!

Well whatever OP wants,I was just saying that a Full HD monitor would've given better viewing experience and GPU like HD7850 would've been used at it's full potential.Seems weird using 20" with HD7850 besides we always go over budget.;)

Pray Why ?

The tech specs of your HD5770 covers everything right upto a 27" or 30" monitor too and with 2560x1600 resolution ...... methinks Abhay need's a 27" now :p

True that, I completely agree.

Graphics fidelity has come a long way from ~early 2010 when I bought the RIG and so have my tastes changed. I am no longer heavily invested in shooters like Call of Duty; So when I fire up games like the Witcher 2, I can make out the difference in what is and what can be. But fantasies are there to spur me on and get a job; then hopefully a graphics card will follow.

Okay I was thinking about a 20" monitor so that the 6870 can handle newer games at a lower resolution.
What are the chances of price drop in 7850 and 560 ti over the coming month or so?

The HD7850 will handle games on higher setting considering your resolution.No point in going for GTX560Ti as HD7850 beats it massively.You are good to go for 2 years if you get HD7850.

The GTX560Ti and the HD7850 sit very close to each other in price and performance, but the future prospects for the AMD card are stronger and more importantly it is massively more efficient than the former for the same level of performance.

Another advantage of the AMD card is that once you cross the 1080p resolution mark the performance is skewed completely in their favour; thanks to the EyeFinity technology they have implemented since the HD5*** series cards.

Here is a benchmark run --> AnandTech - Bench - GPU12.

7850+22" monitor completely destroys the budget. What about i5 2400+7850?

and any Idea about price drop in India for 7850?

That is viable too, but I suggest that you stick to an Ivy-Bridge processor the gains made in efficiency are well worth the premium they carry over their older brethren.

Not anytime soon is the answer. So if I were you I would just purchase, the prices have been slashed regularly by AMD but due to a myriad of reasons none of them have materialized here in India, so it is a bit hollow to speculate whether this latest round of cuts will ever come into play.

Ok so heres the plan:

Will buy only 1 4GB stick of RAM and add another next month. Buying GX450W. Also ditching the optical drive (dont really need it).

Also can I get away with a cheaper UPS? I only need ~4-5 mins of backup tops.

That is fine but with a Cooler Master GX450W you are really cutting corners on future expandability of the machine. Try to go for the Corsair GS500W ~4200/- OR Seasonic S12II 520W as far as possible.

For a cheaper UPS, look at the APC BR600VA-IN ~1900/-.

The 650VA UPS is minimum of what you'd get,It'll only give you 5-7min backup so better not go cheaper than that cause your pc will shut down on lower ups than that.
