Hey people,
Need a suggesion in the abive mentioned topic. i use head phone not only while gaming but while doing everything and i mean everything: be it music, games, muvies etc etc. so i need a really good probably one of the best. I return late at night and cant put my speakers on and also i like to keep things personal. So guys pls suggest me a really good headphone. i currently have a premium logotech headphone which is not good enough.O and my range is above 1500ks.even if u have a gr8 suggession but is costly pls do tell me cause i prefer quality more than price.So......;)

Get the philips shp-2700. It's a bit hard to find but look around in planet m and music world stores. It's the best budget phone IMHO.

whichever cans u get, be sure that the sit around your ears and not on your ears as it can be a real pain for long term use

i have the philips hp250 (1000bux) but dont recommend it coz its crap adn volume controller got spoilt

i guess sumthing from sony will be better

i have philips shp805 an i jus love it....usin it as an all rounder as u mentioned..
dunno abt cost...dunno abt its comparision with other models...but others here can tell u more abt that

Don't get the Sony xd-200 , they have no mids no highs no nothing. I don't work for philips but the shp-2700 just hits the spot. Get them instead.

Here's my review

i think the 805 is discontinued :(

Sorry man, i couldn't reply yesterday i was offline. gr8 review man.So u are suugesting that HP 805 is the best option for me.well as my using habits i want a piece which 1.Doesn't leak sound(this is important).
2.has high impedance.
3.is almost equally good in all modes.
4.Doesn't feel uncomfortable if worn for long periods
(cause i dont really use the speakers on my pc)
5.doesn't have a inline volume control.
6.is good with tv also(well its really optional)
u think it can perform according to my needs.

why exactly do you need a headphone which has 'high' impedence???

you do realize that high impedence will make it harder to drive...

Phillips HP 805 fits your needs perfectly. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued. I have both a Phillips HP 805 and a Sennheiser HD 485 and though the Sennheisers cost me more than twice the cost of the Phillips, the performance of both is similar and in addition HP 805 is more confortable for long usage. I use both headsets now, one with my PS3 and the other with my PC.

ya but it will add a punch to the sound quality cos quality is the onty thing that i am looking for in this one.and i dont think driving the piece is a problem

Hmmmmmm so u think HP 805 is the best for me.well i believe u cos u are using too different high class hphones.unfortunately they are out of market and hard to get now.do u think that it is good enough to get a 2nd hand piece of these.i am not really sure.if possible let me know if there is a place where i can get a new one somehow even with more price.if not what are the closest followers of HP805?

^^higher impedance...Ever heard the of a headphone called the GS1000 from Grado? They're 32 ohms. Heard of the Audio Technica W5000? They're 40 ohms, both of these are driven easily by even IPods...

At US$ 1000 and 900, these are some of the best cans you can buy without amping, or minimal amping.

You want high impedance, look at a 200~300$ amp first, cause regardless of what you say Rs 20K headphones will perform like 400 buck cans when not properly amped, if they're high impedance/low sensitivity. Then look at Senn's HD600, HD650 and AKG's K701. Be prepared to shell out at least 12K for these even if you source em from the US. The HD650 costs 28K in India ;)
Little knowledge is a dangerous thing IMO.

Senn's HD201/HD202 could be for you if you're not discerning about quality.

OOOOOK U ARE THE MAN.BUT I DIDN'T TELL U NOR ME NOR MY FATHER IS A MILLIONAIRE so 28k is insane for me.anyway what are senn HD201/202 i mean how are they according to my requirements(leaving no.1 pt.) & how much do they cost. can u open up a bit?

No need to be rude. He wasn't mocking you as well. Just trying to remove your misconception about high impedance = punchy sound.

If you want punch above clarity, the XD200's are a good choice. I use the XD 200's at work ( 805's are way too noisy - open back design) and the 805's at home , on a daily basis. THE XD 200 , especially with the bass vents opened , has some very weighted bass - you ought to listen to eminem's a$$ like that on these headphones :D.But with the bass vents closed. they're quite unremarkable.

PS : a lot of us are millionaires- Even me ! I have a few million paise :bleh:
