All the laptop locks are like that only due to the same default lock slot provided in all the laptops, and that lock slot in the laptop is made of metal from inside not plastic.karizma.r2008 said:bro i dont think that lock is very useful. the burglar will try to break the lock and will damage the laptop itself.
What alternative would you suggest anyway?karizma.r2008 said:bro i dont think that lock is very useful. the burglar will try to break the lock and will damage the laptop itself.
It is called a Kensington lock. And is found on most consoles, LCDs, WD MyBook hard drives among others. A determined thief can get hold of a nice wire cutter to cut apart the twisted cables anyway so it wouldn't matter anyway.RS4 said:All the laptop locks are like that only due to the same default lock slot provided in all the laptops, and that lock slot in the laptop is made of metal from inside not plastic.
i know its called kensington lock slot but didnt use that word as kensington laptop locks are horribly expensive, other than that its quite hard to cut that steel/iron cable which is enclosed within hard transparent plastic like material and most of the laptop thefts happen due to easy portability and thieves often just get in house, pick up laptops, phones and run away in most cases and such locks will ensure 99% safety of your laptops, ofcourse if someone comes prepared with equipments to cut steel, iron cables, locks, pipes then its a different case but thats not possible in my houseGannu said:It is called a Kensington lock.
