I need a simple router which should work with my dataone, do not need wifi as i already have a wifi router(tp-link).

i need a compact router which can take load of long hours of running together.

i have a few models in my mind suggest which one, also if there is something better than these
Price from theitdepot.com
D-link @1730/-
Netwgear DM111P @ Rs 1540
Netgear DG632 ADSL Modem Router@ 1750
which one to buy in lowest possible budget keeping in a decent performance in mind, i am confused as all three of them are in same range

Any of the Netgear products u mentioned would be gud.. I haven't looked at the specs of both so cant choose but would choose netgear over d-link anyday.. I've had my experiences with D-link..!!

Even i had a very bad experience with Dlink GLB 502T, have given it for RMA. That damn thing gets over heated and d/c :S. Google for Dlink GLB 502T problem, u'll find a lot.

@Saiyan . u know there is a cooler for Modem too .:bleh: :ohyeah:

one of my frnd has put D-link modem in front of his Table fan .:bleh:

^^ I actually used a 120mm fan to cool my D-Link, and it worked, the router was stable with the fan.

Yes, D-link 502T is one of the worst modem that your money can buy. Just watch different forums and you will find literally thousands of people facing problems. I had to configure one for my friend for BSNL and it took a lot of time. Also there are heating problems.
Certainly not recommended at any point of time.

ok i went to BSnl office once more they say they new eqquiments for new broadband connection are installed but they to test it for a while so it will take 15 or even a month,

Now thats the state of broadband in city with a population of 35lakhs

now coming to point this means i have more time to decide which modem to buy so guys keep your suggestions coming.

what about Netgear ADSL Modem DM111P

any one tried it

also there is a inbuilt adsnl modem available on ebay & anyone tried that

Any modem from Linksys or Netgear is fine. Do not know about Buffalo. Personally I would prefer any modem supplied by my service provider. It saves a lot of hassle in configuration etc etc. And if anything goes wrong, I am sure to get them.

with reference to this post. I gave my GLB-502T for RMA, they have upgraded the firmware version from 3.7.0D.0 to 3.7.0D.1. Wonder of Wonder now the router is working without any issues :hap2:

I have a Asus ADSL modem, dunno model number. paid something like 1300 for it 5 months back. Almost no heating

OK...model says 600EV something :P
