Need a particular Burning Software

Level I
Hello Folks :)

I want to know if there is a burning software available (preferably a free/open-source app) through which I can burn files (text/videos) with long file names. The reason I'm asking this is because when I try and burn these long named files on my DVD's using Nero/Ashampoo they burn the files and towards the end of the burning process they typically throw up an error stating that the file name is too long to be written on the disk and as a result my DVD is turned into nothing more than a coaster!

So... can someone kindly suggest an app which burns files with long file names without a hitch?

TIA
Regards,

Unless you're using a really old version, any current burning software should do.... maybe need to investigate the settings a little bit, such as Joliet etc. Try CDBurnerXP that's supposed to be a good one... ImgBurn is another.

the file name lengths are a limitation of the particular iso format (180 chars max for iso9660), not the cd burning software.
Most burning software will always throw an error when using file names not compatible with the format that is set even before burning the disc.

Oh yes, it could actually be that the filename (which includes the directory names) really is too long or has unusual characters for the burning formats :)

Guys after a good session of Googling I might have found a software which does infact write files with long file names, I'll try it first and then post back with the results in the evening. If it works maybe it'll be of help to others as well. :)
