Storage Solutions Need a reliable DVD writer

I need a reliable DVD writer.

Currently I use the LG H10N IDE writer which I have to unfortunately retire for no reason but because my new motherboard has no IDE ports

.

So what's the best brand right now?

Thanks.

Rather than retiring the existing writer, get a SATA PATA converter OR a PATA + SATA addin PCI card. Cost ~ 200 bucks max, you might get it cheaper too.

No point in getting a new one if you hardly burn discs.

The tray issue is common as mentioned by Hades,Dvd reading problem, writing issues which includes Lens problem and the warranty is only 1 year so by the time issues arise the drive is out of warranty so there's no certainty of the dvd burners.
what is this tray issue you are talking about... wanna know if my problem is the same you are mentioning

So I considered getting a PCI IDE card, but then bit the bullet and bought a new SATA drive because the PCI card + fat IDE cables would have completely blocked off the air flow beneath my GPU.
