I need to scan a large number of documents, and will need to do so on a periodic basis. And I want to not sit and not manually scan each one of them. I intended to also use this scanner to scan some old photos that are now fading.

So what's the cheapest but good scanner with an Automatic Document Feeder?

i guess the cheapest adf all in one would be hp 5610.. i bought one 2 or 3 months back for 7.9k.. should be for about 7.5k now i guess.. works well and has a 25 doc auto feeder i think (although i was initially quite impressed wit the adf but hav used it only once till date cause dont normally have 2 many docs 2 copy or scan.

i doubt it.. i think this is the cheapest.. iv got this hp catalogue (although its old bout the time i bought the 5610) an it does not mention any other cheap models.. only scanner + adf options are 20k upwards.. if u want i can upload their model no's and mrp..
